Bramble released on bail
Brothers to answer bail on December 2

Sunderland defender Titus Bramble has been released on bail following his arrest on suspicion of rape.

The former England U21 international was detained along with his brother Tesfaye after the alleged rape of a young woman at a Newcastle city centre hotel was reported to police in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

And Northumbria Police have now confirmed that both men have been bailed pending further inquiries and will answer bail on 2nd December.

Bramble was signed by Sunderland manager Steve Bruce from Wigan for a fee in the region of £1million in the summer.

Following the arrest, Black Cats chairman Niall Quinn said the club will offer their full support to the defender.

Brother Tesfaye, who has played international football for Montserrat, a British island in the Caribbean, is a striker for Eastern Counties League Premier Division club Leiston, in Suffolk.
