North East Stars distribute 1500 presents to children‏.
North East Stars Press Release.

Over 1500 children received free toys and treats at the DIRECTV North East Stars Christmas Extravaganza on December 19th.

The annual event took place at Ojoe Road Recreational Complex and included a plethora of events to give the community an enjoyable start to the festive season. There were bouncy castles and games to play, as well as free Haagen Daz ice cream, free Japs fries, and free goodie bags.

There was also a DIRECTV North East Stars Champion of Champions Invitational Football Tournament match between Quash Trace and G.Madrid. Teams were led out by mascots from the Malta Carib North East Stars coaching school.

The high point of the day was the arrival of Santa Claus with over 1500 presents to distribute to the excited children.

After the toys were distributed the fun continued with an evening of Parang. The Carib beer tent was in operation to keep the adults happy, but the day was all about the children.

Daryll Mahabir, North East Stars President and owner of the Japs Fried Chicken chain said "Today ia all about saying thank you to our community.

This season we have once again been unable to provide our supporters with professional football in their home town. It is shocking that a team with such a large supporter base has to play home games 20 miles from its community."

Mahabir continued "We thank our superb sponsors once again, for making today possible. Businesses like DIRECTV, Hadco, Carib and Toyota understand the importance of giving back to the community. When we approached them for support they were fantastic."

North East C.E.O. Brent Sancho said "This is a fantastic event and emphasises the importance of professional clubs building bonds with their communities. If this country wants a strong National team, it must draw from its roots in the communities. A well supported professional league is essential to that development.

The Ministry of Sport, local corporations, Pro League and clubs must work together to develop a blueprint that will see professional clubs playing in their communities."

Operations Director Kevin Harrison said "Today is the culmination of North East Stars 2010 community programme which has comprised of many events focusing on those among us who are less fortunate including the elderly and victims of domestic violence. We are also dedicated to the development of football
talent in the North East.

The DIRECTV North East Stars Champion of Champions Invitational Football Tournament with a prize of $25,000 is a fantastic initiative and the standard of football has been excellent."

On New Years Day, North East will be hosting the final of DIRECTV North East Stars Champion of Champions Invitational Football Tournament.

"It will be an awesome event" said events coordinator, Khaty Martin-Jones "Aside from the final, it will be the launch of the 2011 carnival season in the North East." The event is titled "Brass is back" and features live performances from Shurwayne Winchester & You, JW & Blaze, TC, as well as popular soca artist Shal Marshall.

The Carib bar once again will be on site.  The event begins at 2pm and goes throuh to 2am. Admission is $50 after 6pm and $25 before 6pm.

The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today are Christians who acknowledge Jesus ;with their lips and walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.
