If Santa could just have in his bag Lassana Diarra and Luis fabiano it will be a good year for sure...
Still unbeaten at home this season ...8 wins one draw ...yeah we lost to Real sociedad and Barsa but they were at home . Like the two teams above us in la liga ...we still in all competitions in Spain and into de Europa Cup next round as well ...
Villareal the  world's biggest small side ...

Well we might not get Lassana and Luis Fabiano but if we get this player we would have stolen one of the finest man markers in the business from all the big money teams. Against argentina Lucas was the standout player ..often disrupting the argentinian flowing football . How he starts on Brazil's national team yet is not more highly regarded by his club eludes me ..but is not everybody who comfortable with EPA football .

0diggsdiggVillarreal are launching a concrete bid for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva.

The People says Lucas is being offered a surprise escape route by Villarreal.

The La Liga outfit have lost playmaker Marcos Senna for 10 weeks to a thigh injury and have contacted the Reds about a potential £4m transfer.

Lucas joined from Gremio in July 2007 for £12.7m and struggled to make an impression, although his form has improved and Villarreal have been watching his progress.

They have now decided he is the sort of player they are seeking to help them cope with Senna’s absence.

Good player though most of his time at Liverpool has been indifferent to poor... He's had some good games where he shows that he can play foobtall very well.  As a youth player he was a standout.  He did a great job on Messi in that last int'l game until the final minute when the little man found some space and broke loose... it was bound to hapen at some point  supppose....

Valencia coach Unai Emery lamented his side’s second half performance after they surrendered a two-goal lead to crash out of the Copa del Rey 4-2 to Villarreal.

Ever Banega and Roberto Soldado had given the visitors a comfortable lead at the break, but goals from Giuseppe Rossi (2), Santi Cazorla and Marco Ruben saw the Yellow Submarine come storming back.

Emery was noticeably distraught in the aftermath of the contest, moaning to the press, “During the break we talked about past experiences and how it was important to keep our intensity, and with a dubious penalty they came back into the game.

“With a combination of our mistakes and the good play of Villarreal, we have lost. It is a painful defeat against a good opponent. Everyone is hurting. I am very self-critical.”

Villarreal can now look forward to a quarter-final meeting with Sevilla.
