Fenwick wants to prove: Jabloteh better than Ma Pau

“They are not better than us and we will see that this weekend,” assured San Juan Jabloteh head coach Terry Fenwick ahead of Friday’s Round Two Match Day Five Super Friday clash against Ma Pau SC from 6pm at the Marvin Lee Stadium.
Jabloteh and Ma Pau met three times this season with the later winning 1-0 in Round One and winning on a technicality in the quarterfinal round of the First Citizens Cup in October after Fenwick’s side failed to appear with its away strip.
Prior to that, Jabloteh defeated Ma Pau on kicks from the penalty spot in the quarterfinal round of the Lucozade Sport Goal Shield following a 1-1 draw back in July.
“We will be well prepared for them,” continued the Jabloteh coach.
“We will be pitching ourselves at them. We know what to expect and we are looking forward to meeting them on Friday.
“We also know that there is disharmony behind the scenes at Ma Pau and the players don’t want to play for (Michael) McComie.”
Fenwick added that despite his side’s problems in finding a consistent forward this season, he is confident that Jabloteh will start bagging the goals on a regular basis.
“We've worked hard over the Christmas and New Year’s period training twice on some days with the guys getting Christmas day and new year's days off and we are now looking forward to a very successful 2011.
“The players are in good shape and looking good, so I'm expecting big things from us. We are the best side and best organized side in the League. We haven’t had the best of success from our strikers but I am confident that Sammy(Hector Sam) and the others will find form for the rest of the season.
With the season halfway through, Fenwick looks to the promotion of youngsters into his first team.
He explained, “We've introduced a number of youngsters in our first team training because of our financial plight and that will continue the development at our club. Not only do we supply our first team at Jabloteh, but throughout the League you see a sprinkling of players that have come through the Jabloteh development. So we will continue along those lines because it’s not just for the Jabloteh effort, but also the National effort.
“I will have a further look at these youngsters this week and I will know if I will use any of them this weekend,” concluded Fenwick.
