Football team kneels during game in protest for not being paid

Like too many other clubs, financial troubles plague Spanish third-division side Pontevedra. The club's players haven't been paid in five months, so during a match against Lugo, they decided to draw attention to their plight by kneeling down and refusing to play for the first minute of the match. Clearly feeling a bit awkward about the situation, Lugo just passed the ball around among themselves until their opponents decided to get up and play. And then they beat Pontevedra 3-2.

Prior to the match, Pontevedra wore shirts that read "Solutions now!" in reference to their lack of pay. Of course, none of this will actually help their club pay them any sooner, but it certainly made for an unusual scene and didn't cause the club any more problems that a full-blown strike would produce. Then again, that loss probably didn't help the cause much, either.

But it certainly drew attention to their plight and thereby puts more pressure on the administration to find a solution. I'm sure that was part of the intention.

Both the Pontevedra players and the Jamaican players colloberated among themselves and took  collective action. I am sure this gesture by Pontevedra, will put added pressure on their employers and will result in speedier resolution to the matter. Kudos to them for that.

How many of T&T players actually join the FPATT? roughly 8 or so? how many of your recent DCC failed squad are FPATT members?  Absolutely no coloboration amongst your players whatsoever. How long now the World cup players begging JW for fair compensation? If all T&T players and the football fraternity at large would have coloberated and fight JW like the Jamaicans fought the JFF...perhaps your football would be in a better state today. LikeI say, the football faraternity n T&T is WEAK...and has been for the past 20 years.

You are such an idiot.......The WC players aren't begging anyone. There is a legal case in progress, meaning, Trinidadians are law abiding people. Being Jamaican I'm sure you don't understand anything about that.
