Mensa Ballers

Jus curious...cause some allyuh does know real background

Other than 'Socrates' from Brazil and our own esteemed Shaka

What other world class ball players could have walked away from the game at their peak and still be in high demand for skills in another career?

Clark Carlisle (Burnley) was on a show called Countdown here in Britain (a show for brainy scrabble geeks), and also appeared on a political panel show called Question Time.

I think Chiellini (Juve) has a university degree (doh know in what)

And Dwight Yorke is a well-respected football pundit

I could be wrong but I think they're referring to our esteemed former coach, Francisco Maturana....he was/is a dentist as I recall.

If having a degree qualifies, then there are tons of players who come through the US college system and play in the MLS.

I don't think having a university degree qualifies one for mensa, if we're being technical. But from what I've read, Frank Lampard is very high up there, Dennis Bergkamp, Thiery Henry, Jamie Redknapp, David James, Robbie Fowler, Eric Cantona, Iain Dowie

For managers, Iain Dowie has an MSc in Engineering, Martin O'Neil a Lawyer and Arsene Wenger MSc in Economics and Slavin Bilic (Croatia manager) all have masters degrees.

So what does Shaka have besides a bachelor's degree in engineering? The issue can't be who has a degree. It has to be more who has played at a high level of football. If we start off talking bout Socrates and Shaka, we cyah reach Rahim and US college players
