Yeah but the gulf between the haves and the have nots it widening drastically its only teams in the lower divisions really facing financial ruin

If players were motivated by what a club stood for and not what they could pay them it would be a beautiful game

Players have a right to seek whatever compensation their skill can garner and the market's demands will determine.....nobody does ever talk 'bout puttin' a cyap on teams'/owners' profits so why do it to the players?

I hear what you are saying, its symbiotic but seriously, the market and billionaire owners are driving a false inflation in wages and transfers that the have nots cannot compete with, heck they cant even hold on to thier best players, the only way we will see a new team break into the "top" clubs of the world is if something like what happened at chelsea and man city
which skewed the market unrealisiticaly
plus whats happening in england where slightly above average players are priced wirth ridiculous tags. yet just how many top english players play in other leagues???

although the NFL has a labor dispute between players and owners (more suited to your point), its about the size of the slice of pie they get because each season the league knows how much money they have to work with. the palyers and management get paid very well

To be fair EUFA are trying but need to put more in it.

The owners have really brought it on themselves and sense doesn't seem to be prevailing, the penny is dropping at other clubs, so it makes the gap even wider.

Making clubs stay within their means and paying transfer fees up front / with 90 days or so will put a stop to a lot of clubs shelling out stupid money, simply beacuse they haven't got it.  At the minute players are paid for over 3 years or so from TV money, take that option away and players transfer fees will fall simply because there won't be that many buyers.

The superstars are always going to be paid silly money, but the real problem average players are commanding fees way above their value and wages that simply can't be sustained.  This has a knock on effect to all leagues.  Personally would like to see them set a wage figure, big enough for the big means to make it realistic but also keep them in check, which the smaller clubs couldn't pay anyway. Transfer fees are silly, but its the wages that will kill off clubs.
