Okay i found a vid with some commentary on the last meeting in the World cup between brasil and USA and why the decision to fire the coach was a knee jerk reaction when in fact they should have probably looked at the players themselves for the let down on the field.

This world cup is the most physical ive seen , teams getting better, gap closing. Physical advantage is the new tactic now. Compared to 99 WC in USA , teams have improved in every aspect of the game, so good even some men might look bad. I expect next WC its going to be even more physical. World powers not so powerful anymore , USA no longer have a free ride to the finals anymore since the last 2 World Cups , not sure if they might ever touch that trophy again.

Our women need to strengthen up if we want to have a chance to compete these teams , skill could only carry us so far. Looking how them women playing now , A Germany or Sweden or Canada etc will just bundle our women over

They will go the way of Hope Solo as that is their poster girl they trying to push. She will cuss somebody out one of these days or rest some hard cuff on them and then they will make excuses again. The top players on the team did not like the coach.

Regarding the blame game. As you stated, no one blamed the players. Look at the goal that Marta scored. She beat the first defender ( Ellertson I think), where was the second defender? Then Cat Whitehill (who was commentating in the Brazil vs EQ game and kept asking why Marta still in de game) came flying in, no patience to hold up Marta from attacking, no side on stance nothing. Just a big galloping dinosaur that got shredded and left Scurry for dead at the feet of Marta.  All game the individual defending was absolutely terrible. The USA inability to criticize themselves when they play is their strength and greatest weakness. Just like this last game vs Sweden, where they never adjusted the defense in the first half. Listen to Foudy and Drake whenever a player is left out of the squad. They go out of their way to ensure that the their viewers know the player was not "dropped", just that the coach is giving everyone a chance to be part of the team. Yet Prinz was benched because she was not good enough.

Everyone blamed Greg Ryan and Briana Scurry, and empathised with Hope Solo. If you looked at the Olympics semi-finals (I believe it was) when the USA beat Brazil 2-0, you could have known that if Brazil had improved their fitness they would beat the USA. The Brazilian played all over the USA, but the USA superior physical attributes trumped Brazil that day. The Brazilians returned and destroyed the USA. They should have expected that. The USA players could not efefctively deal with the individual skills of the Brazilians. With the emphasis on passing in the USA soccer culture, the US womens' would not have experienced to many players consistently running at them while executing moves, stops, fakes, feints and change of direction.

Boss Analysis Elan, just spot on and the sad thing is most of the viewers eating it up like candy. Read some of the comments from the sweden game and for the upcoming brasil game. I'll let the ladies do the talking on the field.

ain't go lie, ah frighten for Brazil. The 2007 Brazil would mash up the US. 2011 Brazil not convincing yet. The US will try to kick/foul Marta, like they do in the WPSL. Plus women refs will put EPL refs to shame-all kinda wild blade passing unpunished, I shocked! Ah doh like this matchup. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Brazil not convincing yet? 1-0, 3-0, 3-0 ? i think you mean USA.

Marta is the least of their worries. US have no speedy defenders that can take constant running and turns at. Sweden and NK show them up twice. Unless they get a magical pixie fairy to block that goal, they cut arse book Sun.

USA cannot stop Marta on her day. Top goal scorer in WPS last season also

Here is the funny thing with that is that if they place more than one defender on her she is going to drag them away and set up plays for the rest of the team. And Brasil knows this is what the USA will try to do, and ofc i expect lots of fouls and a very physcial game with long balls to the forwards form the us to get over the brasil back line. Though what will be funny is if brasil spring a 3-5-2 that run like a 3-1-4-2/1-1. Any way we shall see on sunday and see what coach gets the tactics right

Anyone watching two of the three goals in these vids will see Scurry do shit!Even the Marta oal for all her individual brilliance ..the shot was tame.
US not beat them for the Olympic Gold medal after that WC?
