The father of Jamaica's 110m hurdles record holder Dwight Thomas was murdered on Sunday night at his home in St. Catherine.
Jamaica’s Police Communication Department, the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), reported that 62-year-old Ashton Thomas was at home when several men gained entrance to his premises in August Town District in Glengoffe, St. Catherine chopped and shot him.
According to information, the men attempted to steal his motorcar, escaped after residents raised an alarm and the police were summoned.
The Major Investigative Taskforce is now investigating.
