TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO - BAHAMAS 49-45

Trinidad and Tobago registered their first win in Nassau. They outplayed the host of CBC Championship 49-45 and joined the with 1-1 record. T&T failed in Day One against Cuba 32-80, while Bahamas handed 52-47 loss to Saint Vincent. Chenell Harris (89) stepped up fort the winners yesterday with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Rhea Codio (165-G-88) scored 10 points and Pietra Gay (183-G-74) added 7 pts, plus 7 rebounds. In Bahamas, Linda Pierre (82) collected 12 points and 5 boards. Their second scorer was Anastacia Sands-Moultrie (C-77) with 12 points and she also grabbed 5 rebounds beside that. Quarters: 12-15, 15-11, 12-14, 10-5. In Day Three, T&T will meet Saint Vincent. Bahamas will take on the USA Virgin Islands.

We just defeated Dominican Rep ranked 29th in the world 82-76 in the Caribbean Basketball Championships.It looks like we will finish  2nd to Cuba and qualify for a Fiba rank tournament.

Cuba is a very very strong team they are ranked in the world top 10 plus we still have players to come in for Centro basket next year as we qualify for that tournament now.We were predited to finish 4th or 5th in this tournament and we finish 2nd to Cuba

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO - DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 82-76

Trinidad and Tobago won the second place in CBC Championship 2011. They handed 82-76 loss to Dominican Republic in the last day of the competition ending it with almost perfect 4-1 record. It means that T&T booked a ticket for the CentroBasket 2012. Dominican Republic finished as No.4 with 2-3 record. They will not play next year in CentroBasket. Melissa Guerrero (180-G-83) exploded in victory with 33 points and 10 rebounds. Jowan Ortega (173-G-85, college: UMKC) had 17 points and 8 boards, while Chenell Harris (89) added 13 pts and 6 as. In the loosing squad, Carmen Guzman (175-G-85, agency: Merit Sports, college: UAB) collected 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Sugeiry Monsac (186-F/C-81) added 14 pts and 10 rebs. Quarters: 11-18, 16-20, 29-22, 26-16.
