Kai Selvon is thru to the quater-finals of the 200m with a new PB of 22.79, placed 3rd in her heat.

I know she would have to run a PB or something close to her PB to advance. Good for her..she did what was necessary for her ..

we last. Who cares?

We not last! We joint 21st of 211 (TWO HUNDRED AND ELEVEN) countries that took part in the Championship! Common people. That puts us better than about 90 percent of participating nations

Tell them that for me. but I is on kicks fellas. With the exception of Greneda and probably Latvia we eh doing badly. The Brits  complaining they doing good. The Yanks don't like to win silver and bronze. The Cubans complaining. Everybody complaining. The competition tough. That is how it should be. Actually we eh doing to badly. Probably 2 more medals who knows. Nigeria eh win, Argentina eh win? Whey Canada? Whey the Aussie? Whey India?

STEUPS.

Given TT's time coming into the WCs how the hell the IAAF seeded that heat, most of the top teams were there.

Bet some teams qualify with 3:03 and 3:04

Good point there about the seeding. It was very disproportionate. Howver that still does not excuse our poor runnning and exchanges. We lost atleast 1 second on just the exchanges.

My bad. I did not realize those were actually semi-finals and not just heats.

I believe a sprinter quarter miler was needed on that second leg to get better positioning and run a solid leg, ie Lalonde Gordon. Solomon lost a lot of ground in that first 100m along with our chances of qualifying. Have no clue why Gordon did not compete in the 400m in the trials. But some in here (including myself) believe he should have been included in the team for just these kinds of situations. Not sure a different TT team would have run sub-3:01 in any case. That was tough going.

That's right. There are no excuses for the poor runnning from T&T. I bet even now meh boy Socapro will admit T&T performances were very sub-par.

If my memory is correct, we only have one time better than the 3:02 that we clocked this morning.  The team performed as well as it has been performing for the past 3-4 years

I second this. Take away that monster headwind and she PB's again. Good going from her and it bodes well for our 4x100m team.

After just looking at the men's 400mH final, I really feel for Jehue. Third and fourth was 48.80 and 48.87 respectively. Times that were definitely within his reach. Even then winning time was 48.26 which is his PR, but he did not show that kind of form this season.

In that 4x4, that 2nd leg was woeful. We needed a real speedster. Jeez. Back to the drawboard for some serious analysis.

My argument isn't about some of our athletes' performances not being sub-par; it’s about the reasons why some of them are giving sub-par performances and whether or not our athletes are all giving the best they can at this point in time! Please don't get things tied-up, use your intelligence!

Allyuh notice that every other team in our heat did their season's best besides T&T!
Proof that we did not field our best possible 4 x 400m squad in addition to the bad exchanges that lost us valuable time especially on the 2nd leg when teams were tussling for positions!

Sorrillo ran well, and lead his heat from gun to tape and cruised in the last 35m for the win. :beermug: Callendar on the other hand layed an egg, coming last in his heat. :-X
