Only one from each country.  Batistuta is Argentina's all time top scorer to date... That's why he's on the list.

It's not the top 32 scorers of all time.  It's a top 32 list of each association's all time top scorer...

e.g. Ronaldo has about 60-65 goals from Brazil but he's not on the list because Pele is the top scorer for Brazil.

32  Guatemala, Carlos Ruíz, 41, 83

Okay, I've highlighted all the players who are still active as professional football players in list above and made a seperate list of them below!

Active players who can close the gap on Stern before they retire!

# - Country - Name - International Goals - Caps

4  Trinidad and Tobago, Stern John, 70, 110
7 Honduras, Carlos Pavón, 56, 96
12  France, Thierry Henry, 51, 123
12  Republic of Ireland, Robbie Keane, 51, 108
18  Bulgaria, Dimitar Berbatov, 48, 76
20  Spain, David Villa, 47, 72
23  Cameroon, Samuel Eto'o, 46, 102
23  United States, Landon Donovan, 46, 128
26  Ukraine, Andriy Shevchenko, 45, 95
32  Guatemala, Carlos Ruíz, 41, 83

Luckily for Stern all the players above him are no longer active and he is 14 goals ahead of Carlos Pavón of Honduras who is the nearest active player below him in the list!

Stern needs just 15 more goals to go to 2nd in the all time scoring list which I think is quite do-able.
He would need 40 more goals to go to the top of the all time scoring list before he retires which will be very difficult but knowing Stern if he keeps fit and in the mix for national selection, who knows?!  Head coach Pfister has already said that Stern is capable of playing at the national level for at least 3 more years and it would be quite possible for Stern to score his 40 required goals in that time. That will be at a do-able rate of 13 goals a year or an average of 1 goal per game if he is selected for the T&T national team and T&T plays at least 12 senior games per year in our campaign to qualify for Brazil 2014 provided we can last the distance and make it into the Hex!!

Big up to Stern, you have every right to cuss the doubters whenever you score goals in our games!
How could people in their right minds doubt your ability to keep scoring goals for your country once you are match fit and hungry?! :salute:

Portugal star Ronaldo becomes second men's player to reach 100 international goals
Yahoo News

Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo has become just the second player to ever reach 100 international goals.

Ronaldo reached the milestone just before half-time of Tuesday's Nations League match against Sweden, slamming home a free-kick from outside the box to score the game's first goal.

The 35 year-old is only the second men's player to reach 100 goals for his country after Ali Daei, who scored 109 times for Iran.

Ronaldo's goal was also the 57th of his career from a direct free-kick and the 10th for Portugal.

Ronaldo had to wait 10 months to reach the 100-goal milestone, with his last international strike coming in November 2019 against Luxembourg. The forward had netted a hat-trick in the previous match against Lithuania to take his total to 98.

The coronavirus put a halt to Ronaldo's pursuit of 100 goals, however, with Portugal's match against Croatia last week their first since the Luxembourg fixture.

Ronaldo was forced to sit that match out due to a toe infection, with Portugal winning by a comfortable 4-1 margin even without the Juventus star.

Portugal are looking to defend their Nations League title, having won the inaugural competition last year when they defeated the Netherlands 1-0 in the final.

Ronaldo helped lead his country to that final in June, having netted a hat-trick against Switzerland in the semi-final in a 3-1 win.

At the age of 19, Ronaldo scored his first international goal at Euro 2004. He has gone on to pass the likes of Eusebio and Pauleta to become Portugal's all-time top goalscorer and has now more than doubled previous record-holder Pauleta, who netted 47 times for Portugal.

Ronaldo would see his Portugal side fall to Greece in the Euro 2004 final, but he has gone on to lead Portugal to major honours in the form of Euro 2016 and the inaugural Nations League title in 2019.

On an individual level, Ronaldo has established himself as one of the game's all-time greats in a club career that has seen him represent Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

In addition to numerous trophies with his club sides, Ronaldo has won the Ballon d'Or on five occasions.

Ronaldo becomes all-time top scorer
REUTERS.

Ronaldo has just become the all-time top scorer in men's international football with 111 goals after he headed two late goals to give Portugal a 2-1 comeback victory over Ireland in Group A of World Cup Qualifying

(SOUNDBITE) (Portuguese) PORTUGAL COACH, FERNANDO SANTOS, SAYING:

"Of course, we are all satisfied. All Portuguese are pleased to have the best goalscorer ever, but it was going to happen anyway. I don't believe that with five, six, ten or fifteen more matches that Ronaldo still has to play that he wouldn't break the record. He was already tied. If there were eight, nine or ten goals to get to break the record, maybe we would question if he could get it or not, but with only one goal to get, if not today, it would've been another day.''

Ronaldo signed a two-year deal to re-join Manchester United from Juventus

He called his return to the club ‘the best decision’ and said his mentor Sir Alex Ferguson played a big role in the move
The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.
