MAASH International put in a workmanlike effort to come way with a hard-fought 3-1 win over a spirited CAPS 98 FC outfit in a Group B encounter of the Eddie Hart Football League (EHFL) at the Eddie Hart Savannah (EHS) last weekend.

In the last game of a double-header at the EHS two Sundays ago, Jason Joseph netted a brace, including a penalty, while Kevin Mc Cullum scored the other item for MAASH to extend their early winning streak to two wins.

Last year's runners-up MAASH, who led 2-0 at the break, were coming off a 5-0 win over Maloney Real Footballers in their season opener, while CAPS were 1-0 winners over Parliament SC.

MAASH played the last five minutes with ten men after Marvin Straker was red carded for a second yellow card offence.

In the opening affair, RSSR FA produced a sterling performance to come back from a 2-0 deficit early in the first period to claim a well-earned point via a 3-3 draw with Bird Song Small Stars.

Anthony George scored the precious equalising item for RSSR FA, nearing the end of a very lively Group C encounter.

Before that, Richard Anderson provided a double strike to keep his team in the game after Aquila Thomas' brace and a strike from Palo Barker kept Small Stars' noses in front until George's effort.

Tunapuna-based Small Stars, who were 2-1 winners over Madrid United in their previous outing, took a 2-1 advantage to their bench at the end of the first half.

On Saturday, Petit Bourg Youths collected their maiden win of the new season on the back of a 1-0 success over Macoya United in a Group A affair.

Christopher Nelson converted from the spot for the Petit Bourg boys, who had a loss and a draw in their previous matches.

It was debutants Macoya's first defeat of their campaign, following a 1-1 draw with Penetrators in their first game.
