Pfister pleased with the effort.
By: Shaun Fuentes (TTFF).

Trinidad and Tobago head coach Otto Pfister expressed some amount of satisfaction over his team’s showing in Sunday’s 3-0 victory over India ahead of next month's 2014 World Cup qualifier against Bermuda. This was Pfister's first game in charge of the "Soca Warriors". It was also T&T's second consecutive win following their 1-0 victory over Digicel Caribbean Cup hosts Martinique last November.

“For me what it is not about the result but what I could see from these boys who had not played in maybe six months. The  boys didn’t  have official game in the legs for some time,” said Pfister. “I think for the first game it was okay. For my boys I was happy. As a new coach you don’t know exactly what the situation will be. There are some areas which we still have to work on but for this the first game I was pleased with some parts also."

He also commented on the performances of goalscorers Stern John and Darryl Roberts.

“I think he (Stern) was a good player and he is still a good player. One year he don’t’ play any football. Three  months ago I gave him special menu to lose kilo and in every training he works very hard. I think Stern John has two to three years at this level.  I think he made a very good performance in 75 minutes today.  He is very dangerous player in the box and I think he is a key player for Trinidad and Tobago for another two-three years. This  player (Roberts) is also like Stern. This is a very good player, He is always in movement. He is very strong with ball at the feet in penetration. I was very happy with him.”

Asked for his impressions on the pace of Sunday’s match, the ex-Ghana boss replied: “I think some times they had very good intensity but not all the times in the match you play very fast. In a football match you don’t always get the intensity that is high.”

Commenting on the preparations of the team ahead of the Bermuda encounter, Pfister added: “Today I know from the local boys who I can use and who I cannot use. Football is a very easy game. I will collect all the overseas players and we take two, three, four training sessions together and then we are ready for this World Cup game.

India head coach Armando Colaco also saw soem high points for his team inspite of the loss.

“I am happy with the way the boys played. We could have done better but Trinidad were better than us and they got the result. This is a learning process for us. We are a rebuilding team. We also had some chances too. These boys are very young and I thought they were impressive. These are the same boys that beat Qatar in Qatar. Football is India is on the rise and with the right exposure like today, they will get better. We enjoyed the experience here in Trinidad and Tobago and now we are looking forward to the game in Guyana," Colaco said.

We should be able to get out of we group but it will not be smooth because off the field affects on the field.

You cannot just pick up 11 men from all different club and expect them to walk on the field and perform.

The only thing saving we is that Bermuda and them just as bad as we in terms of preparations.

Once we meet the top teams the current level of preparations will not work.

I see no improvement in preparations in the future.

I like that...OP seems confident and has a plan...just hope that he can get all the foreign based and that the combination with the locals will produce the results and get us to the next round.
well yes
