With the 2011-2012 season almost in full swing globally, several Trinidad & Tobago professional basketball players have secured interntaional contracts.

Heading the list is 6-4 guard Ian Young in Latin America. Young debuted on 28 September with 11pts & 2assists for La Union in an 82-68 win over Sam Martin.C. in Argentina premier league, Lira A.

Meanwhile, 6-7 power forward Wilfred Spongy Benjamin will see action on October 2 with San Martin. MJ. against Huracan in the Argentina TNA league.

And in Mexico, Devaughn Lamont will line up Correcaminos UAT Victoria in the Mexican LNBP league. Lamont last played with San Francisco Rumble in the ABA.

Whilst 6-7 forward Adrian Joseph will see action with HALCONES UV XALAPA. Joseph formerly played two seasons in Spain for Gestiberica Ciudad de Vigo (08-09) & Beirasar Rosalia (09-10).

In Asia,
Kibwe Trim will line up with Al Moutahed Tripoli in the Lebanon Division A league. Last season Trim played Kyoto Hannaryz in Japan.

However, 6-9 Julius Ashby will continue in Japan BJ League but with Shiga L-Stars. Last season he played with Niigata Albirex.

Over in Euro,
6-6 guard Leo Westermann continues his plight with ASVEL in the French Pro A league. Westermann won a bronze medal with France U20 team at the European Championships U20 in Bilbao, Spain during the summer. He averaged 10.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.3apg in nine games and had a game high of 19pts against Germany.

Whilst 6-7 forward Eze Andrews (Savannah State University) will debut for Kaarinan Ura Basket in Finland 1st Division league.

In the United Kingdom, 6-6 veteran Shawn Mayers is back with Cheshire Jets for the 2011-2012 season.

And down under, 6-4 guard Daniel Dillon switched to Melbourne Tigers in Australia NBL. Dillon was a member of Skytrans Cairns Taipans in the previous season.

Also 6-1 point guard Joey Haywood aka King Handles has been invited for tryouts in NBDL. Haywood recently completed an illustrious playing career with St Marys University, Canada and will be seeking to extend his talent amongst the pros.

whats going on with the basketball association in TT?

we have good players all over n.america who are trini background, yet the association back home can't get a team together to qualify for an olympics, bad management >:(

same as football.Just dat in basketball is not one man but a setta tribes dat disguise demselves as zones.
