concacaf.com

GUADALAJARA, Mexico -- Trinidad & Tobago will replace Guatemala in the men's tournament at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Guatemala was withdrawn by the country's Olympic committee for non-compliance with protocol.

Panama and Honduras, who finished behind Guatemala and ahead of Trinidad in the final rankings of the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship in April, declined invitations to fill the vacancy in the eight-team competition, set for October 19-28.

Trinidad will be placed in Group A along with Ecuador, Mexico and Uruguay and begin play October 19 against Uruguay.

Surprise!!!!. That is good for the U-23/Olimpic. Some good practice games and a shot at a medal. This WC team could do with some practice.

Aye, yo, TTFF, decline this invitation fool, you can't win these games just playing for pride okay. You are ill prepared fool. You are not suppose to embarrass young people like that. They could be scarred for life. Imagine being shamed on the playing field by teams that are well prepared to win and you are not. Yo, don't do this to our future players.

Don't agree!! Let them get some games! If they get good licks then they will know how much they need to improve!! U-20s are not babies, they are our future & some currrent senior team players!!

Its U-22 age: Male players must be born on or after Jan 1, 1989.

Agree, many of them they have been practicing and playing as part of the U-23. They will get licks but this is licks they can learn from and not blame themselves. If they find the money let them get the experience. Send Adams, Bateau, Jones, Winchester, Britto, Joseph etc. and a few of the last U-17s. Its a wake up call to get the next U-20 ready for 2013.

The appropriate team would Angus Eve and the U-23. This team could handle their business. Excellent preparation for CFU qualifying against Suriname, Cuba and St Kitts come November :beermug:

True but true to form the TTFF trying to mess things up!
Angus has not been paid for the year and is not sure if he is still in charge of the team!!

The TTFF are masters at %^&&*ing things up with our young football teams and not just the seniors!!

Well this is a strange one.. However, only thing bad can happen is losing badly. Firstly, we don't deserve to be there, however, the young players can get alot of experience from these games, giving us more games to watch and who knows we mite get a point!.. Prepared or not, its a free ticket to get our butts kicked and we go take it... can't believe this is happening, but thank you Guatemala

Cant see anything negative about this. The olympic team was suppose to get together for training, so now they can play some "friendlies" as well. We saw what lack of preparation has done to the senior team. Hopefully the U-20s seize the opportunity. There will be countless scouts there. BTW does anyone know if the matches will be televised.

I am glad that these guys are getting some international experience, but this looks a little like sending off the little lambs to the slaughter!!

One week to prepare for a tournament against Mexico, Uruguay and Ecuador..............i wish them well.

But in essence, it was a late call up and there was nothing that we could have done about it.

hardly little lambs. 3 of them have played in 2 world cups, and 5 have senior team experience. agree with the rest of your post tho, as professional players with a good coach hopefully they will be able handle themselves well enough to benefit in a positive way from the experience. if this don't give them a reality check for facing Cuba, Surname and St Kitts next month nothing will!

There must be a reason why Britto is constantly being over looked.

Maybe he is good but lacks in the technical department ?

Maybe he is not discipline.

Maybe his attitude in training is poor ?

Maybe he cant score at international level on a consistent basis ?

Maybe he in Anton Corneal black book ?

I mean, I only guessing here.

But de man have been over looked by many coaches.

I saw highlights of him and he eh look bad at all..

but,,, Why he getting overlook all de time ??

Think about it.......Jerrel trained with the Senior team at the Ato Boldon Stadium today(14th October) so that's a good question Sam......why is he being overlooked? To everything there is a time and a season......the Britto family is convinced of that......let all who have ears hear.....Bless up!
