Hatters sign international attacker Samuel.
Bedfordshire News.

The Hatters have signed of Trinidad & Tobago international Collin Samuel minutes before the transfer deadline.

The 30-year-old winger/striker has signed a one-year contract at Kenilworth Road, subject to international clearance.

After impressing in the Caribbean, Samuel moved to Scotland in 2002, joining Falkirk, scoring 11 goals in 34 games in the First Division.

That form caught the eye of Premier League side Dundee United and a £100,000 fee saw Samuel move to Tannadice where he enjoyed a successful five years, including a Scottish Cup runners-up medal in 2004/05

After his contract expired a move to Canada with Toronto followed in 2007 but a year later he was back in Scotland, signing for St Johnstone where he helped the Saints win promotion to the Premier League in 2009/10.

Gary Brabin told the club's website: "I'm delighted to welcome Collin to the club.

"I'm looking forward to working with him. Collin has a good pedigree, is a strong, versatile player.

"He's able to play anywhere across the attacking positions, is an international and will give us a different dimension."

He will wear squad number 23.

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Samuel leaves Luton Town
lutontown.co.uk

Luton Town and Collin Samuel have today mutually agreed to terminate the striker's contract with immediate effect.

Samuel, 30, who signed on deadline day, has struggled to settle into life at Kenilworth Road following his move from Scotland.

Frequent travel with his young family still living north of the border, along with high intensity training, has proved to be a challenge too far for the Trinidad and Tobago international who returns home having made one appearance in Luton colours; as a substitute in the 2-2 draw at Bath City on 20th September.

Hatters manager, Gary Brabin told lutontown.co.uk: "Collin's been a terrific lad with a great attitude around the place and whilst the formula between both club and player hasn't quite worked out as hoped his contribution around the environment has been commendable. We wish Collin well and whoever invites him in will receive a player in a very fit and healthy condition.

The Conquering Lion of Judah shall break every chain.
