Marchan to keep on working.
By: Shaun Fuentes (TTFF).

He conceded ten goals in this country’s three final round Olympic qualifying matches but goalkeeper Andre Marchan is certain he will go on to become a more solid custodian after the experience in California last month.

The W Connection player who  is on loan to DirecTV North East Stars was particularly noted for his inability to handle cross balls under pressure by the journalists in the media tribune at the Home Depot Center.

“It’s a learning experience. I gave my best but I know there are some areas to work on and I intend to do that to ensure I can come back on the national team as a better goalkeeper,” Marchan said.

Commenting on the goal conceded against Panama, he said: “I thought I should have done better. I should have dealt better with the cross by holding the ball but the conditions were tough out there and it was hard to hold the ball at times.  I wouldn’t say my confidence was low but it was not easy.

My teammates were behind me. It’s country first at all times so I put my body on the line while we were out there,” said Marchan who added that the cold and rainy conditions in the 1-1 draw versus Panama was the most difficult he’s ever played in.

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Typical Trini GK; we are so weak on crosses.  What doesn't help us is that strikers at home don't challenge GKs as much as you see in other leagues, so there is that false sense of security.  Then, we go to a tournament where every cross is fair game, and it's a struggle.  You'd think that at the national level we would have at least one local GK that can handle crossballs.

...And ironically, he ended up being the strongest on crossballs.  Even in the UK, he was lauded for this strength.

Would it be fair to say Brow was not a good GK Coach because he had been our goalkeeping Coach for decades, would it be fair to say the goalkeeping programs Lincoln Phillips implimented during his time as TD was not successfull,T&T always had good GKs why all of a sudden we having so much problems or are we for a scapegoat.
I don't know any of these guys have never seen them play so i don't make comments,i just read the little reports and criticisms posted on here.Every team that plays whether it's national men, women,Youth, club or college the reports are the same, one minuite is selection of players, defence, midfield, forwards and on and on it goes, the thing is we all know the problems and so does the administration/TD/Coaches etc etc the question is what are we doing?how long we going to old talk?
