I know this article would cause issues. But that is his opinion.  It have Vorbe, Sanon, Auguste, Francillion(Haiti), Schall, Kamperveen, Olmberg, Zebida(Suriname). No disrespect to Shalrie, if he is on that list, then Cummings(Concacaf MVP), Archibald(NASL MVP), Deleon(Concacaf and NASL MVP), Steve David(NASL MVP). But the list could grow to 25 or fifty. The guys who played in the WC and regional tournaments in the more recent past will always have the nod over the older guys when there was no TV around.

Decent list...and very good additional mention-suggestions from the comments on the post.

IMHO another worthy mention as well should be Leonsen Lewis.

Also, what about Rudd Gullitt?  Wasn't he originally from Suriname?

Ruud's dad is Surinamese. Ruud born in Holland. I think Davids and Seedorf born in Suriname.

The Home of Caribbean Football
June 9 at 4:25pm"Hey everyone! I'm asking you guys to send in your 'Caribbean Football All Time Best Xl' - lined up in whatever formation you like. Selections can be born in the Caribbean or be a part of the diaspora, as long as they have played for a Caribbean club and/or represented a Caribbean country during their career (so John Barnes, Clarence Seedorf, Lillian Thurham wouldn't count for example). I'll then post an All Time Best Xl taking your votes into consideration. Should stir up an interesting debate! Get involved & send in your teams.

Olmberg was a SERIOUS player.  Left footed central defender and captain for Suriname and nobody could get past him.  Not even Steve David and crew.
