U-17 Championship draw held in Panama.
Concacaf.com.

PANAMA CITY, Panama -- Defending U-17 World Cup champion Mexico will face Honduras and Cuba, while host Panama will meet Barbados and Jamaica in the first round of the 2013 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship.

The tournament draw, which was held today and conducted by CONCACAF General Secretary Enrique Sanz at the Hotel Sheraton Panama, determined the first-round opponents for the April 6-19 event.

Host Panama and Mexico, by virtue of its 2011 World Cup finish, were pre-seeded into Group A and Group D, respectively.

"We are very excited about this tournament, which will showcase the next generation of our Confederation's upcoming talent,' said CONCACAF President, Jeffrey Webb, during his opening speech. "We wish the best of luck to all the qualified teams and hope one of the four teams representing our region at the World Cup will retain the title for this category.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, the winners of which will qualify for the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, October 17-November 8.

It will be the first time Panama has staged the CONCACAF finals and the first time a 12-team CONCACAF Under-17 tournament will be held in Central America since 1994 in El Salvador.

All tournament matches will be held at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City and the Estadio Agustin "Muquita" Sanchez in La Chorrera.

Mexico has won the CONCACAF Under-17 title a record four times, while defending champion United States captured the crown on three occasions.

Costa Rica already put 3 on we last week and Canada is always a top team at youth and women level.

T&T over and out !!!!!!!!

Jamaica and USA have an easy group.

Why USA and Mexico never in a group of death ?

I feel Concacaf is fix.

I can wait tell they make USA, Canada and Mexico start qualifying for the Gold Cup.

Jamaica having to face Panama on their home soil doh really strike me as them having such an easy group nuh......I would quicker shift them odds in Panama favour dey...dem Panamanian woman and dem hot and fiery too bad boy! :heehee:

***He's been at River Plate since he was 11. He's 16 now.  I've read very promising reports about him ... and of course there are the inevitable comparisons to players like Neymar and Ronaldinho (at that age). Said to be a wicked dribbler. I gather he looks up to Trezeguet (who is now at River). Here's a piece of him from just over a year and a half ago ... he's wearing the #10.

No one can say these aspiring pros play in luxury, but they are well taken care of ...

Programação de voo para a Argentina
Sub-17

Brazil U-17s been in camp for 2 weeks ... dahis one major reason why they have been successful.

Some thing that stands out in this release (and is common of the CBF (Brazil), the AFA (Argentina) and other federations that have achieved in the game) is the transparency: flight and accommodation details.

Just updated with video.

Imagine people were on Facebook issuing death threats to the Peruvian keeper for his errors versus Uruguay. But, the thing is the guy is a strong dude. He did an interview in which he is straightforward about putting the errors behind him. Plenty bass. Again notice the access and limelight under which these young players are placed ... they are not sheltered. He also makes the point that football has its highs and lows and that against this same URU team, a month ago in Venezuela, he had a great game and made no errors. They won that outing 2-0.

Day 3          April 4

Argentina on the verge of elimination ... just as with the recently concluded U-20 tournament.

Paraguay 3  (9', 30' and 91') Argentina 1 (11'). Argentina suffered 2 red cards. One in the 75'(Lucio Compagnucci from Vélez Sarsfield) and the other 7 minutes later, in the 82' (Marcos Aztina from Lanús). They also had 2 yellow cards 35' (Sebastián Driussi ) and 51' (Leonardo Suárez).

First 2 PAR items by Antonio Sanabria. Final PAR item by Alex Cáceres.
Argentina's lone mark by the red-carded Aztina.

You can check the ARG player club affiliations earlier in the thread.

UNDER 17S IN PANAMA CITY FOR FINAL ROUND WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS

Friday, 05 April 2013 06:19

Trinidad and Tobago’s Under 17 national team arrived in Panama City on Thursday night to engage in the final round of CONCACAF qualification for the 2013 FIFA Under 17 World Cup.

The 20-man squad, which has been supported by the Ministry of Sport is captained by midfielder Brendon Creed and coached by Shawn Cooper with Terrance Marcelle and former national player Leonson Lewis as the assistant coaches.  Ross Russell is the goalkeeper coach. TTFF Technical Director Anton Corneal will also accompany the team which is being managed by Christopher Gouveia.

Corneal, who led T&T to the 2007 FIFA Under 17 World Cup in South Korea, is expecting T&T to challenge for one of the two spots available for the quarter-finals from the three-team group. T&T faces Canada in its opening game on Saturday at the Estadio Agustin Muquita in La Chorrera from 7:30pm T&T time. Corneal’s team in 2007 defeated Canada in the final round of qualification in Kingston, Jamaica.

“It’s an interesting group for us and we have done most of what we can to get the current squad up to a level of readiness for this final round,” Corneal told TTFF Media.

“We’ve done it before and I think the last set of warm up matches, including the ones against the United States have put us in a good frame of mind for the competition,” he added.

Cooper meantime is also optimistic of the team’s chances. T&T also faces Costa Rica at the same venue on Tuesday at 10pm

“I think this team has matured well over the past few weeks. We didn’t make it past the quarter-final round in 2011 when Canada knocked us out but I think this time we are better ready for the challenge ahead of us. The boys are very eager and while the preparations we eventually got in recent weeks should have been on the program maybe a year or two before, we think we’ve done everything possible at this stage to get the team ready,” Cooper added.

The T&T team will be based at the Intercontinental Hotel Playa Bonita Resort and will train at the match venue on Friday evening.

Four teams from CONCACAF will qualify for the 2013 FIFA Under 17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in October. Local fans can follow Saturday's match on Radio 105 FM in T&T.
