Molino with a nice build up and then with the return, scored a diving header to tie up the game (1-1) in the 54th.

This guy should be playing for a bigger team.

upsets for so yes.

hard luck to orlando.

CHICAGO (May 29, 2012) – Seven of the 14 Major League Soccer (Division I) teams playing during Tuesday’s third-round action of the 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup have already been shown the exits.

It was a big day of upsets throughout the tournament field.

The 2011 U.S. Open Cup runner-up and four-time U.S. Open Cup champion Chicago Fire was upended by the PDL’s Michigan Bucks 4-3 in overtime in Pontiac, Mich. Defending MLS champion LA Galaxy, sitting in last place in MLS’s Western Conference, continued its recent struggles with a 2-1 loss to the Carolina RailHawks – a team that has not posted a win this year in the North American Soccer League (Division II).

The USL PRO’s Harrisburg City Islanders (Division III) had one of the more thrilling upsets of this year’s tournament, clawing back from a 3-0 deficit in overtime and defeating the New England Revolution in a game-ending shootout.

Other upsets included the NASL’s San Antonio Scorpions over the Houston Dynamo, the USL PRO’s Dayton Dutch Lions topping the Columbus Crew, Clinton Irwin’s 10-save effort to lead the USL PRO’s Charlotte Eagles past FC Dallas and NASL side Minnesota Stars FC’s road win against Real Salt Lake.

The third round concludes on Wednesday with two games. Three-time defending U.S. Open Cup champion Seattle Sounders FC hosts the NASL’s Atlanta Silverbacks at 7 p.m. PT at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Wash. The other match has the USASA’s Cal FC taking on the Portland Timbers at 7:30 p.m. PT at JELD-WEN Field in Portland, Ore.

The 99th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup includes a random selection process for determining home teams from the first round through the quarterfinals among clubs that have applied to host. The process, conducted by a coin flip, gives participating teams with venues meeting tournament standards an equal chance at hosting their possible opponent for these rounds.

Cato was one of the men of the match in the Sounders game against Atlanta Silverbacks last night. The Sounders won 5-1 and Cato played the full game and got an assist on the second goal.

NASL and USL pro is the same level of football. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE (in players or level of play).

Unfortunately, the US soccer federation sanction USL as the 3rd division; a decision that was made mainly on financial reasons.

I truly believe Molino will be playing in the MLS soon...no reason he shouldn't.

I glad for this yute. I hope his make the progress to the next stage. I would like to see him go to the weight room and strenghten up a bit more. Yes, midfield needs more skill than brawn, but a little bit of brawn would go a long way.
