So basically this is it. DJW is ruler for life with absolute power. His presidency will run into the next WC qualification campaign.

Not really. Contro and his group MUST show up at the next AGM and present a very persuasive argument on why they should run football. If they can't do that, then DJW will continue. God forbid if AJW decide to make a comeback for "redemption".

When the majority of the board gets behind me, I will show up... a united effort is needed, you could have all the money in the world but that is only a temporary fix

After Seattle won MLS cup all their foreign players had their flags draped over their shoulders. All except JJ. On the parade in Seattle was the same thing. No national pride at all. JJ is one of my favorite players I hope he pulls his act together.

Minnesota United making big push for Kevin Molino

Minnesota United making big push for Kevin Molino
By Ives Galarcep (goal.com)

Former Orlando City coach Adrian Heath is working hard to try and reunite with the Trinidad & Tobago midfielder and has made a sizable offer.

Adrian Heath knows Kevin Molino very well, and knows just how dynamic the Trinidad and Tobago midfielder can be, so it should come as no surprise that Heath and Minnesota United have made Molino a key target this winter.

Sources tell Goal that Minnesota United has made a sizable offer to Orlando City for Molino, with allocation money the key element of the offer. The Lions are not looking to trade Molino, but the midfielder is believed to be unhappy with his current contract and is looking for a move if Orlando City isn't willing to give him an increased salary.

Heath brought Molino to the U.S. when he signed the midfielder to the USL version of Orlando City, and brought him to MLS when Orlando City joined the league in 2015. A knee injury cut Molino's 2015 season short, but he rebounded in 2016, registering 11 goals and 8 assists.

Molino made $121,400 in 2016, a modest number for a player widely-regarded as one of the more dynamic midfielders in the league.

Minnesota United has a large amount of general allocation money available and could secure more via trade during the MLS SuperDraft.

He might not go because of the cold. But he will go if the figures are right. Definitely worth about 500k easily.

Orlando City’s first day of training raises questions about Kevin Molino

Orlando City’s first day of training raises questions about Kevin Molino
By Alicia DelGallo (Orlando Sentinel)

A small group of players ran continuous laps around the field while the rest scrimmaged at Sylvan Lake Park in Sanford Monday, Orlando City’s first day of preseason training.

Carlos Rivas, Cristian Higuita and newly-signed Donny Toia were among those running instead of training, but the player who drew the most attention was Kevin Molino.

Molino made headlines earlier this month for receiving an offer from MLS expansion side Minnesota United FC, led by former Orlando City coach Adrian Heath, that far exceeded his 2016 salary of $121,000. The Goal.com report also said Molino was not happy in his current situation.

Minnesota isn’t the only one interested in the Trinidad and Tobago midfielder, though. Multiple teams have approached Molino, recently and in the past, according to sources with direct knowledge of the situation.

“We aren’t actively looking to trade him,” Orlando City general manager Niki Budalic said when news of Minnesota’s interest first broke earlier this month.

That still is true, but the Orlando Sentinel confirmed Molino is unhappy and the Lions are hoping things turn around because he is an integral part of their plan for 2017.

Molino was second on the team in goals (11) and assists ( 8 ) last season. He was 13th in salary.

A raise may not be possible with Orlando City is operating under a tight salary cap, but the club is making it clear it values Molino.

And so his segregation from the team on the first day of training raised questions. When asked why the four players ran laps, Lions coach Jason Kreis told reporters, “That’s a bit of an in-house matter that we prefer not to speak about.”

The Orlando Sentinel later confirmed Molino did not train because he didn’t complete his concussion test during physical exams during the weekend.

Other players were missing from training altogether, including Kaká, David Mateos, Tommy Redding and incoming midfielder Will Johnson, among others.

Redding and Johnson are on their way back from national team duty with the U.S. U-20s and Canada, respectively, and Kreis said others still were undergoing physicals. The full team will come together as the week wears on.
The Conquering Lion of Judah shall break every chain.

Value Molino? Consistently one of your best players and 9th in salary. Such a small salary at that. Boy Molino, it's time to move on bredda. If they really valued you they would have found money to keep you--believe meh, breds.

He's always said his goal is to play in Europe and I'm sure his agent is aware of this but he just can't pick-up and go.

If only it were that simple  ;D ;D

He should make the Minnesota move if they offering a lot more money etc. Time he starts maximising his income earning. At 26+ etc it might too late to still be harbouring dreams of Europe and playing time etc. Time to start piling that $$.

The harsh weather might be the closest thing he ever experience to playing in Europe in his life. That winter weather does instill a different type of discipline in ya. He cyah be stick up under Kaka right through. Time to leave the nest.

Definitely won't be EPL or La Liga as he and the TTFA don't fit the requirements. If anything it will have to be Belgium, Germany or France as they're the next best and their laws are a little more relaxed. Plus clubs will think twice about signing a 26+ year old player who's ranked 20 something in a league that is seen as crap generally by Europeans. I hope he does though it would be good for him even though it should have been done earlier.

At K Molino's age the only way he should stay in the MLS is if they giving him a million dollar contract other wise is just not worth it he would get better competition even playing in the weaker leagues in Europe.

Minnesota United is in the process of trading for midfielder Kevin Molino from Orlando City, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

United also will acquire goalkeeper Patrick McLain and give Orlando City $650,000 from two MLS funds, according to Alicia Rose DelGallo of the Sentinel. The trade could be one of the biggest deals in Major League Soccer history, she reported.

United reportedly tried to trade for Molino during the Major League Soccer SuperDraft on Jan. 13, but the Loons’ offer of $500,000 in allocation money was turned down, according to FourFourTwo.
Heath, United’s new coach who coached Molino in Orlando City from 2011-16, declined to discuss the pursuit of Molino when he met with the media in Golden Valley last week. A United spokesman declined comment on a trade for Molino on Thursday from the club’s preseason training camp in Arizona.

Molino, 26, had 11 goals and eight assists in 30 games for Orlando City last season. Heath, who joined Orlando City as coach in 2010, coached Molino and the Lions until he was fired last July.

Given Molino’s production, he was a bargain last season with a guaranteed compensation of $121,000, according to numbers released by the MLS players’ union in September. Molina was dissatisfied with his contract, and Orlando had been shopping Molino to other clubs, a source said.

Molino, who is from Trinidad and Tobago, was Orlando City’s first MLS signing in 2014 before the Lions made their debut as an expansion franchise in MLS in 2015. He didn’t have a goal or assist in seven games during the 2015 season.

Molino was a standout on Heath’s Orlando teams in the third-tier United Soccer League. Molino was named USL MVP in 2012 and 2014, when he set a league record with 20 goals as Orlando won the regular-season title.

McLain, of Eau Claire, Wis., is a 6-foot-3 keeper who played in one game with the Chicago Fire in 2016. He earned $72,500 last season and was acquired by Orlando in the MLS re-entry draft. He played in two games with Chivas USA in 2013 before spending 2014 and 2015 in USL and collegiate soccer at Cal Poly.

Not necessarily, if as I heard  he was offered a new contract to stay in Orlando. He's going from an established partnership with Kaka on a team that is working it's way up, to unfamiliar teammates on a team that's starting from scratch. Could be a recipe for more losing, and if he's got the big contract he could end up taking a lot of blame. Hopefully it works out for him.

yes, it could be a recipe for disaster. But at his age,  he has to take that chance. Look at the money he making. He worked in the trenches for Orlando when they were a USL team. The guys who are making way more than him in Orlando now, were not there then. If things don't work out in Vikings city, he can come back to the city of bachus. It have plenty boat ride.
