Decent effort by W Connection against a tough side. Santos defense was sometimes brutal and were nasty against a frustrated hungry Shadon Winchester.
Gap closing slightly. Archibald did well again. W Connection defense fairly solid. A few W Connection scoring chances in the box were miraculously blocked by Santos Laguna  Captain Alvin Jones was hungry for action but did not get much opportunity for his trademaek rocket free kicks. His defensive work was aggressive. Gotta be careful with yellow card challenges. Should get a call by BraveHart.
Toussaint as a 2nd half substitute with 25 mins to go did not do enough to earn national team selection, not looking hungry enough. Benjamin who was a successful super sub in the last game against Saprissa did not get chance do do much for this later substitution.
One again, good exposure amd measuring stick for local teams and I would say encouragememt for the local teams to aspire to better performances, hopefully with a restructured / rescheduled league that would get Proleague teams IN season and not PREseason at the time of these club championship games. Games have to be marketed right so as to pull some crowd for the 12th man effect. Camera was on the correct side of the stand facing the covered stand. Something our local cameramen must do or LEARN to do.

Hard luck. Hopefully, if given a chance again next year, you guys will learn from this year's experience and will be able to go to the second rounds.

Completely agree that the camera work needs to be done with the crowd in the background. They need to be taken out of their comfort zone. But even with that said, the cameramen for the Champions League were in elevated, scaffolding stages with a tent cover at the top of the uncovered stands.

Santos edges W Connection.
Concacaf.com.

Santos (2W-0D-1L, 6 points) made an early Andres Renteria goal stand up to snatch a 1-0 win over host DirecTV W Connection (1W-0D-3L, 3 points) in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League at Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The result lifted the Guerreros into a first-place tie with idle Saprissa (2W-0D-1L, 6 points) in Group A. They will face each other in a top-of-the-table clash to conclude group play on October 20 in Torreon, Mexico. W Connection completed its schedule and has been officially eliminated from the competition.

Renteria struck in the second minute, finding the back of the net at the left post after Bryan Rabello’s left-sided corner kick struck defender Tristan Hodge’s left thigh inside the six-yard box.

In the 21st minute, the visitor nearly doubled its lead, but goalkeeper Julani Archibald did well to save a blast from distance off the right foot of Diego Gonzalez.

Five minutes later, W Connection’s Dimitrie Apai latched on to a ball played along the ground and into the right side of the box. Without hesitation, he uncorked an effort that appeared destined for the left side of the net, only for goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin to somehow get his right foot on the ball while leaning in the opposite direction.

W Connection had a golden chance to equalize in the 56th minute, but with Marchesin out of the net, Shahdon Winchester’s attempt from 12-yards out was blocked by Adrian Aldrete.

Marchesin came up big on a 32-yard swerving blast by Kurt Frederick, parrying away the hard to handle ball to his right.

but the Express said that he is "among several attacking options available"

I also saw that at their last game. Earl Jean was pacing up and down the touch line. Maybe a transition taking place. Who knows!!

That crossed my mind (meaning Vb's points) but he did get up on the sidelines sometimes and does have more of a tendency lately during matches, not just this one, to let Earl Jean his assistant do the demonstrating and sideline shouting. Fevrier is very much overweight and clearly limps & might have significant back or knee or hip problems or just dizziness standing up too long. Yuh never know. Don't think it is a character weakness of shyness or introvertedness as he is well aware that you have to look the part when being compared to your opponent coach who may be making style leading his troops & standing right next to you for all the cameras to see. He probably has Earl Jean as his trusted Lucian understudy and plans to have him continue his legacy.

They lost, but they played ok... they just can't finish.

Archibald looked good.

Alvin Jones coming to come.

Frederick good.

Apai small, but he have some skills, he need to eat bad, he to weak to hold de ball, but he nice on de skills.

Winchester look strong, and should have scored a sitter, but he just can't finish.

Gomes is a real hustler.... and he need to be more confident in his shooting, he make a square pass for Winchester big miss instead of taking it he self, but Gomes play all ova that field, good player in time.

Quintero disappoint.

Adams, could ball, but he look like he trying to hard and f00cking up in de process.

Benjamin Jr look half de player he was.

Hodge is a nice player.

Toussaint, shoulda start, he need some fitness, Connection needed someone experience in the midfield.

Stuart Charles look like he falling asleep on de bench, like he need ah worm out.

Earl Jean on de side giving orders, they should get him some advance help.

LA Galaxy is good for the picking.

Central FC need to finish the job.

If they continue to defend that 1-0, chances are, they could lose.

LA Galaxy is dominating the game.

Cant believe Oliver is 40 and is playing this well.

Jan seems up to it tonight.

I'm surprised this game doesn't have a bigger attendance?

Can anyone guess the attendance?

Stadium looks empty.

LA have 5 fans and they making more noise than the T&T fans...  ;D
