When allyuh go learn boy??

it will take years of hard work and dedication for us as a ppl to compete efficiently on the world stage, whether it's sport, politic, economics, business, infrastructure, or technology, we are way behind when we should be keeping strides with the pack, that's bc the ppl who have the say in T&T are lazy greedy complaisant deluded thieves!

they are void of ideas and know how, they take every thing for granted and have no kind of vision for the future, it's too bad a country like haiti, cuba or even dominican rep eh have the kinda wealth we have, it almost hurts my heart to see good money go to waste on such a stagnant care free ppl.

and yeh, for the last time, we would never beat no mexican club out of a place in the 2nd round, THAT'S BC THESE PPL ARE SERIOUS BOUT FOOTBALL, AND THEY SPEND MONEY AND DEDICATE THEIR TIME TO BEING FORMIDABLE.

T&T on the other hand has a piss poor league, they have no youth development programs or academies, they depend on a high school league to bleed our future crop of players, while these mexicans americans and central americans are following the world format for youth development.

ah wonder how come non of these mutts never figure out that this is the reason for underachieving all these decades?

it's ah crying shame i say. >:(

Caledonia losses Champions League opener.
By: Ryan Rosenblatt (SB Nation).

As expected, Toluca had no problem with Caledonia AIA in their CONCACAF Champions League opener. Edgar Benitez, Miguel Almazan and Raul Nava all scored for the Choriceros in a simple 3-1 win to kick off their tournament campaign with three points at home.

It took just 23 minutes for Toluca to go in front as a flicked on header found Edy Brambila, who quickly played Benitez in on goal. It was quick play by Toluca and by the time Caledonia could react to what happened, Benitez was slotting the ball past Glenroy Samuel.

Six minutes later, Almazan was hitting a rocket by Samuel to double the lead. The defense couldn't be beaten on this one because it came on a 30-yard free kick that Almazan hit as well as possible. It got over the wall and made a beeline for the back of the net, where it settled well beyond an outstretched Samuel.

Toluca were never bothered, keeping the ball for long stretches and generating the bulk of the chances. When Nava made it 3-0 at the hour mark it made the scoreline reflect the run of play. Toluca continued to pepper the goal while, to that point, Caledonia hadn't even taken a shot inside of 20 yards.

Three minutes from time, Julian Wade finally gave Caledonia something to cheer about when he scored from five yards out, but by then the match was long over. Toluca had their three points, setting them up for the next matchday when they take on Comunicaciones in Guatemala with a chance to grab a stranglehold of Group 6.

When allyuh go learn boy??

it will take years of hard work and dedication for us as a ppl to compete efficiently on the world stage, whether it's sport, politic, economics, business, infrastructure, or technology, we are way behind when we should be keeping strides with the pack, that's bc the ppl who have the say in T&T are lazy greedy complaisant deluded thieves!

they are void of ideas and know how, they take every thing for granted and have no kind of vision for the future, it's too bad a country like haiti, cuba or even dominican rep eh have the kinda wealth we have, it almost hurts my heart to see good money go to waste on such a stagnant care free ppl.

..............ah wonder how come non of these mutts never figure out that this is the reason for underachieving all these decades?

it's ah crying shame i say. >:(

Yet T&T has the 3rd highest standard of living and per-capita income in the Western Hemisphere...3rd behind the USA and Canada.

Just some food for thought, breda.   :)

Third highest GDP/GNP which ever term you fancy.

and yeh, most that income is only distributed to a small section of the population, in other words the rich getting richer while trickle down economics is totally ignored and out of the question.

in addition to that, we also have a very high poverty rate for our GDP per capita. could you imagine one million and a little less than a half population with extremely high revenues yet still livin under 3rd world status with very little infrastructural upgrades??

listen hero, there's no one on this earth who could sell me trinidad as a progressive nation, not even jesus christ who happens to be one of my favorite ppl to have walked the earth.

Breda...I'm not going to get into an economic-geopolitical debate on a FOOTBALL thread.  But as a polite FYI...what you describe, is actually pretty much EVERYWHERE, eh.

You could make the same argument for the USA, Canada, the UK, Russia, Australia, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, and even the so-called 'progressive' countries of Norway, Sweden, Denmark etc.

And let's not even get into the REAL cabal of cartel of privately owned banks who have taken over the 'coining' of currency from governments, under the false guise of government owned Central Banks.

Bredz...we know.  But a discussion for another forum and another thread.

Now back to football!!   :beermug:

Btw, I was not trying to 'sell you' on T&T being a progressive nation at all --- in-fact I'm not trying to sell you on anything, nor do I really give much of a rat's a$$ at all to even care to.  However, I was merely stating a fact, not an opinion.  This fact can be discered from the figures published yearly by the World Bank, and even by the US CIA fact-book.

These aren't 'OutsideMan' opinions --- what I stated on my first response to you was a mere fact unencumbered by any one's personal biases or opinions.

Anyway breda...back to FOOTBALL!

Thanks for the info, FS.

Caledonia losing in Mexico comes as no surprise. They went up against a team representing the best league in concacaf and currently ranked #11 in the world for various reasons. The Mexican league is currently sponsored by the largest financial institution in the country, market wise. The fans come out in the five digit numbers to show their support. The players are not that bad, internationally, and of course, the altitude is crazy. So, Caledonia went up against all of that and lost. It is not entirely impossible to win in Mexico but you have to be prepared and Caledonia was not.

W Connection, on the other hand, is going up against a team representing the #7th ranked league in the region in the Panamanian premier league. I am not saying it is going to be easy but they are coming off of a tour to Colombia as their preparation for the tournament, it is time to start representing the pro league. The deeper they go into this tournament, the more respect they and the league will get. It's time to put up or shut up.

I was talking to Jem Gordon today. He's still with Connection in Panama. He's enjoying the experience.

Thanks for the info, FS.

King Deese --- Great points, man.   :beermug:

Btw, just out of curiousity, where is T&T currently ranked in Concacaf with regards to football leagues?

Thanks for the assist, Tallman.

I believe the league is ranked 10th out of 13 leagues. Really poor for a country that has been playing the game for over 100 years. None of that seems to bother Spleen, the club owners, the players, and the football federation.

At this time, there is a big disconnect between the pro-league and everybody. No businesses appear to be interested in pro-football. If and when the national make it to the hex and is on the verge of making it to the WC, that is when we will see them. As I said before as long as there is no major Black businessmen in the TT economy, sports like football, basketball and netball eh going nowhere.

You would think the Con site or the TT paper coulda tell us what the hell time the game is.

Big game and nobody here seems to know what time it is.

To be fair, it certainly does bother Central F.C. and at least those of our players who want to play overseas. I'm sure it bothers Dexter Skeene and Sheldon Phillips too.
