Stunning hit ends eight-year wait
By Dane Vincent (nottscountyfc.co.uk)

Midfielder chuffed to open his County account with a long-range finish...

Saturday 27 November 2004 – that was the date of Andre Boucaud’s last goal in the Football League, prior to his wonder strike on Saturday afternoon.

Boucaud, 28, netted Notts’ first goal in a 2-1 win over Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena, when he rifled into the bottom corner from 25 yards.

The midfielder was delighted with the finish and, more importantly, the three points.

“It’s a great feeling, it’s good to get the goal but a great feeling to get the three points, so I’m happy,” he said.

“Zoko laid it off to me and I had so much space that I thought the only thing I could do was shoot.

“I don’t usually shoot but I gave it a go and luckily it went in.

“I’m thinking the last time I scored in the league was when I was at Peterborough on loan, so I was about 19.

“I’m just so happy to get off the mark with the goal and I’m happy that we got the three points, because I thought we done very well.”

The Conquering Lion of Judah shall break every chain.
