I would imagine, actually ah know for a fact, that's when most of the major US b-ball camps & trials run (they cost), as well as many prov. competitions. Exceptional Basketball kids must be get a whole 1 week of family time before back to school. It is similar to most sports in the city, even hockey.
In addition, many TTians try to go home for Christmas or Carnival, and tough to make 2 trips in same year. Besides, summer in the city of summer festivals hard to pull way from.  I presuming they were in similar sitaution to my family..Think they are 4 or 5 kids.
