Came across this quote and thought it was a fitting description for how we approach football development.

In a recent interview a chastened minister Abdullahi was quoted as saying: "If we want to win and compete sustainably, we have to develop systems that establish clear connection between process and outcome."

Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

Anybody can win a gold medal every 40 years by hit or miss.

To continue to win year after year
we have to develop systems that establish clear connection between process and outcome."

We know what the outcome we want is , ie to make the world cup every 4 years to compete on a global stage

But when was the last time we sat down and developed a system that we know would produce the outcome.

Not once have we developed a system; yet still we expect an outcome................

I agree, but it takes patience, commitment, vision and investment.

So many people will dismiss your vision, because they fear change or envy your success.
So many people want bread tomorrow instead of bread and jam next week.
So many people will initially follow the plan, then either get bored or walk away when things get tough.
So many people want a small return on their investment next week instead of a larger return next year.

A good example is the rapid rail that was cancelled. T&T needs a railway system, and it should have been developed 20 years ago in conjunction with the highway development. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Our football in 2022 needs to start here and now.

Look at Panama and Uruguay. The started building with the under 17, then under 19, incorporating some youngsters with the seniors and they made the finals to the Gold Cup. Not to mention Uruguay with a small population but consistent in World Cup Qualifiers.
