Warriors send SOS for Marcano and Leon
By Lasana Liburd (Wired868.com)

The Trinidad and Tobago national football team has been granted special permission to add St Ann’s Rangers attacker Jason Marcano and DIRECTV W Connection midfielder Clyde Leon to its squad as the “Soca Warriors” chase their first Caribbean Cup title since 2001.
Marcano and Leon replace injured players Hughtun Hector and Lester Peltier, who will take no further part in the competition.
Trinidad and Tobago plays the winner of Group B on Friday evening in Antigua. At present, Martinique leads Group B with Cuba in second spot.
Leon, who has 46 international caps, could help shore up a midfield that appeared to be lacking in muscle during the group stage while he is believed to be a popular squad member. The versatile midfielder, who turned 28 last week, anchored the Warriors for the preliminary rounds in St Kitts and Nevis and played in two of the three semi-final round fixtures in Tobago.
Marcano, who is also 28, made nine prior international outings but has never played in a competitive fixture for Trinidad and Tobago. He is employed as a central midfielder at Rangers but Shabazz suggested that the Warriors are more likely to use him on the flank where he played with former Pro League team San Juan Jabloteh.

No Glen  :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:

In Lasana latest article.

The former Caledonia and Guyana international coach was unhappy at North East Stars coach Angus Eve’s criticism of his team selection and hinted that Glen, the leading scorer in all competitions for the Pro League, had a personality issue with Charles since the latter’s stint as assistant to Otto Pfister.

“If Cornell is honest, he will know exactly why he isn’t here and the door is still open for him,” said Shabazz. “He has a Pfister monkey and he has to get it off his back; nobody here has anything personal with him… He has to continue to score goals and work hard and be a positive influence on the youths and not mislead them.

“Money was the first thing he came to address when he joined the training squad but the TTFF has no money…

I don't think Shabazz will pick Glen. Glen will be challenging his authority. The next thing I want to figure out if when the go to  the US , Shabazz go be skyping the sessions or what?

One of my friends spoke with Glen before the match against DR and he wanted DR to embarrass T&T.

He kept saying they cannot pay me enough to play for T&T again.

Both him and Angus Eve was laughing they belly off when T&T lost to Antigua.

T&T’s request to draft Leon, Marcano for Caribbean Cup semi-final denied
ttproleague.com

Trinidad and Tobago Men’s Senior Team request to draft midfielders Clyde Leon and Jason Marcano into the squad ahead of Friday’s Caribbean Cup semi-final round in Antigua has been denied.

It is understood that the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) denied the Warriors request based on competition rules.

On Friday Haiti meets Cuba in semi-final one followed by Martinique against T&T in semi-final two at the Antigua Recreational Ground. The Final will be contested on Sunday.

Leon, of DIRECTV W Connection, and Marcano, of St. Ann’s Rangers, were re-called as replacements for injured players Hughtun Hector and Lester Peltier.

They messed up, they should have taken 23 as they were allowed such.

Two more men injured.   We down to a fit 16 players alone.

That said who de hell call up Marcano?

That man was not even in de training squad....???????  If he was not good enough for de training squad how come he making squad as a reserve?  And they had other men who could play he position eh..so dat is not a good reason!
