T&T coaches welcome selection headaches.
By Shaun Fuentes (TTFF).

Before Saturday’s friendly international in Belmopan, this country’s coaching staff wanted to see stronger competition for places in  the Trinidad and Tobago squad for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup..

And according to co-head coach Jamaal Shabazz, despite having to settle for 0-0 draw against a consistently improving Belize outfit, there was some good individual performances that could cause selection headaches in the coming months.

Shabazz pointed out Port Vale midfielder Christopher Birchall for his creditable showing in the 90 minutes.

“Chris Birchall definitely brought something to the table.  He brought a lot of tactical discipline, simplicity in his play and this guy is a warrior. This guy has a place in this squad under us and we were impressed with his performance today,” he said of Birchall.

“I thought we played against a well organized team and they were good on the counter attack. We saw some good areas in our team in terms of us still maintaining he discipline in being able to put the ball on the ground and play out of the back and our possession is improving. But it was difficult conditions for us to play under especially with a hard, bumpy surface and we did well to come away with a draw,” Shabazz told TTFF Media.

I feel that Chris Birchall should be used as a Head Hunter and a defensive screen when we don't have the ball. When we have the ball he could be called upon for set plays; he could deliver the occasional deep cross or long forward pass or take the outside shot but essentially should play behind  Theobald as a defensive midfielder and not be caught ahead of the ball going forward. In this capacity he could be more effective.

Aye yo, the first ten minutes of this game was your entire offensive threat. Let me sum it up for you. A header on goal by Glenn off a set play executed by Birchall almost resulted in a goal. Two runs by Joevin Jones down the left side caught the defense napping and that was the gist of your offensive game. After that the entire game for this Trinidad and Tobago team deteriorated. You have selection headaches because none of the players that you selected are worth spit. Your best player for the first ten minutes of this entire game was Joevin Jones and then he disappeared. Your defense did not concede goals because Belize was inept in the final third. And whoever said two heads are better than one never met you and Charles, for heavens sake the Belize coach did a much better job of motivating his players and making adjustments in the second half. Belize outplayed you in the second half. You did not defend well idiot. Belize was inept. That was the poorest exhibition and execution of international football ever seen. That performance was a really bad "B" movie.
I am the punishment of God...If you had not comitted great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.

Off course Jamal Shabazz will get selection headaches, because Caledonia players Theobald and Keyon Edwards is sure picks and the other 2 midfield spots is to little to share between the rest.

I remember Warner getting bang for picking Joe Public players once and now everyone here seems to accept the smooth talking Jamal Shabazz way.

Jack Warner will rise again and the world will beg him him to return and he will say "NO".............
