I wish SFN all the best. That is a true community team. At least when I was home. I used to see them in Sunday morning league. Then national. All them big named clubs gone thru, but they stay small and look where they are? Good luck to SFN from Quarry St,. Prescott Alley and The Crescent.

I'm came through the ranks of SFN starting at U12, today many of my friends still play on the team. All of the players work regular jobs since there's no way to pay players at the moment, so commitment is based truly for the love of the game and the team. They're trying to get coporate sponsorship for the club but myself and other former players always try to assit with equipment, uniforms, etc.
Like you said it's a true community team with lots of fan support from Belmont and enviorns and it is an avenue for many youths in the area to participate in something constructive. If anyone on here looking to sponsor a local team, SFN is not a bad choice ;D

I wonder what was the result of our game yesterday?

Malabar moves to 2nd in Super League.
T&T Guardian Reports.

A Stevonn Stoute hat-trick, along with a Kevon Woodley brace helped Malabar FC replace Guaya United for second spot, when the match day 13 in the blink/bmobile National Super League, on Sunday.

Malabar FC secured a 7-1 whipping of Tobago’s Stokely Vale, at UTT Ground, O’Meara, simultaneously with Guaya United’s second loss of the campaign, this time against another Tobago team, 1976 FC Phoenix, 2-1.

Phoenix took a 1-0 lead just after a half-hour, before Carlon Hughes levelled the score for Guaya in the 70th minute. Unfortunately for the visitors, Phoenix took a second lead almost immediately via an effort from LeJandro Williams.

Despite the loss, Guaya United will have the opportunity to once again return to second spot when it takes on Defence Force at Frederick Settlement Ground, Caroni, today, from 4 pm, in a rescheduled round one fixture.

There will be one other rescheduled fixture today with 1976 FC Phoenix hosts Real Maracas at Canaan, Bon Accord, at the same time.

Malabar currently sits two points behind Club Sando, which was on a bye on Sunday. A win today for Guaya will put the team ahead of Malabar and a single point behind the league leader.

TTFA President congratulates Club Sando on Super League Cup final success.
By Shaun Fuentes (TTFA).

Trinidad and Tobago Football Association President Raymond Tim Kee today congratulates the players and staff of Club Sando for their success in the final of the TTFA/bMobile Super League Knockout Cup Final at Ato Boldon Stadium on Sunday.

The Southerners and Guaya United thrilled close to 3,500 fans with an entertaining and tightly contested final before Club Sando emerged 4-3 winners at the end of regulation time.

Club Sando raced to a 3-0 lead through goals by Teba McKnight (22nd), Corneal Thomas (25th) and Devon Modeste (28th) before Guaya fought themselves back into the game through Jody Allisop (34th) Kevin Jagdeosingh three minutes before half time. Andy London then put Sando 4-2 ahead in the 48th before Carlon Hughes sparked an exciting finish with a 75th minute item.

“It was a fantastic final and a great occasion for the Super League by all accounts,” Tim Kee stated.

“When I heard about the fanfare at the match and the type of contest it turned out to be I was extremely pleased. It says to me that the interest in the local game continues to grow and that something right is happening. I wish to commend all those who have played their part in the running of the tournament and to our partners bMobile for their continued support,” he added.

“To the teams I say well played and continue to strive for greater things. Your actions on the field of play speaks volumes and your following continues to grow. I would like to challenge the other teams in the Super League to match your efforts which will no doubt  have  a positive effect on the league and the standard of competition,” Tim Kee said.

Both Tim Kee and TTFA General Secretary Sheldon Phillips missed the encounter due to having departed for the Cayman Islands to attend the inaugural CONCACAF summit.

The match was witnessed by T&T Senior team head coach Stephen Hart who also commended both teams on an entertaining final adding “I thought it was a fitting contest for a final. This is what the fans wanted. We saw some good football, good goals and an entertaining match.”

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

The power of community football - I went to a double header in the Mannie Ramjohn (stupidly at like 6pm on a workday) and there were literally more people directly involved with the game than in the stands.

Despite some poor technical football and coaching deficiency Club Sando and especially Guaya United have a big following. These club cant get 5 passes together but they does play real small goal skills thing and wine up de crowd.

Club Sando maintain slender Super League lead.
T&T Express Reports.

The top of the bmobile National Super League table remains a three-way battle royale, with leaders Club Sando, and Guaya United and Malabar FC—second and third respectively—earning wins on Sunday to stay out front, away from the rest of the pack.

Club Sando made their goals count in a 2-1 victory over defending champions WASA FC, while Guaya withstood a late challenge from Joe Public’s Eastern Lions for a 3-2 win. Malabar, though, fell behind to FC Santa Rosa, but that was their only mistake in a 6-1 triumph.

At Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, Club Sando earned their tenth win by getting the first two goals in their encounter with WASA. Kerron Smith gave them a 1-0 halftime lead with a 44th minute item, and Anthony Parris (47th) added another just after the break to assure the advantage.

WASA’s 72nd minute strike by Kareem Freitas was not enough for them to share the points.

Guaya trailed their home encounter at Guaya Recreation Ground 1-0 at halftime, Stephen Johnson putting a mark on the scoresheets in the 36th minute. But three goals in 14 minutes sealed it for the hosts, with Ryan Stewart registering a strike in between Carlon Hughes’ second half double.

Arvid Applewhite struck late for Joe Public to make the match interesting, but nothing more.

Malabar disposed of fellow Arimians FC Santa Rosa at Arima Velodrome, but only after Santa Rosa’s Devon King found the net in the 17th.

But Malabar shifted gears thanks to Shandel Samuel, who found the goal in the 32nd and 34th minutes, and added another for good measure in the 63rd to complete his hat-trick.

The trio of Calvin Shepperd, Gorian Highley and Hayden Tinto each scored late to add insult to Santa Rosa’s injury.

Other results saw Defence Force hammered 8-1 by Stokely Vale at Frederick Settlement, Caroni, with only a late goal giving the Army some respite. And at Canaan Bon Accord, FC Phoenix ensured Westside Superstarz continued a downward slide with a 90th minute goal and 1-0 triumph.

Siparia Spurs traded places with Defence Force in moving one spot up to ninth by edging Real Maracas 2-1 at Palo Seco Velodrome on an 87th minute item by Derron Matthews.

The results leave no margin for error, with Club Sando (32 points) set to meet Malabar (30) this weekend. Any slip-up by those teams could give Guaya (31) a boost to the top. No one else is set to get close to the top trio, with FC Phoenix (24, fourth) on a bye in the next round.

Club Sando remain first in Super League.
T&T Newsday Reports.

CLUB SANDO remained in first place on the Blink/Bmobile National Super League standings after a 2-1 victory over reigning champions WASA FC on Sunday.

The top four teams — Sando, Guaya United, Malabar FC and 1976 FC Phoenix, all won on Sunday, on Match Day 14 action.

At the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Sando overcame WASA with goals from Kerron Smith, in the 44th minute, and Anthony Parris in the 47th. Kareem Freitas got the consolation strike for the second-from-bottom WASA, in the 72nd.

Guaya got a double from Carlon Hughes to get past Joe Public 3-2 at the Guayaguayare Recreation Ground.

Joe Public went ahead courtesy of Stephen Johnson in the 36th minute before Guaya hit back with a Hughes’ pair (50th and 64th) and one from veteran Ryan Stewart (58th). Arvid Applewhite (84th) trimmed the deficit to 3-2 but it was a little too late for Joe Public.

Malabar benefitted from a hat-trick from ex-St Vincent/Grenadines striker Shandel Samuel to trounce last-placed FC Santa Rosa 6-1 at the Arima Municipal Stadium.

After Devon King gave Santa Rosa a 17th minute lead, Malabar replied in emphatic fashion, with Samuel scoring his treble in the 32nd, 34th and 63rd minutes, followed by items from Calvin Shepperd (76th), Gorean Highley (81st) and former national midfielder Hayden Tinto (90th).

There was also a 90th minute strike, but this one proved vital as Christopher Morgan found the back of the net to give Phoenix a 1-0 win over Westside Superstarzs FC at Canaan, Bon Accord.

The most one-sided result occurred at Frederick Settlement in Caroni as Stokely Vale humiliated Defence Force 8-1.

Krishawn Joseph registered a hat-trick (43rd, 55th and 84th), with two apiece from Dominic McDougall (15th and 23rd) and Trevonne James (29th and 82nd). Jamaine Walters (65th) was the other goal-getter for Stokely Vale, while Kenric Cupidore (87th) got the lone response for the Defence Force.

And, at the Palo Seco Recreational Ground, Siparia Spurs rallied from a goal down to blank Real Maracas 2-1.

Aaron Peters put Maracas in front after 54 minutes before Siparia fought back with goals from Daniel Garcia (65th) and Derron Matthews (87th). Games on Match Day 15 will be contested on November 3.

The National Super League is the best league it have in the country, they don't seem to have the problems the Pro league have, sometimes i wonder if they have Doctors etc at games, they provide entertaining Football and have huge crowds that follow their games, players are not restricted where Minor league Football is concerned and a lot of them are paid,if our national teams need players that's where to look,if our Pro league need teams that's where to go,Coaches there seem to be doing quite a good job based on the quality of Football these teams play and conditions they play under, what sort of qualification these Coaches have?

The Super League is a good league. Having a strong second tier is very important. I don't know anything about huge crowds other than specific teams at specific games. Most games have thirty or so people. Also, most games are free and easy to get to! I don't remember seeing ambulances at games, but I may be wrong. The league is getting stronger and it's a good league for developing playing and coaching talent. I expect to see some of these teams perform well in the F.A. Trophy this season.

FS, a strong second tier !!!

I think de second tier is stronger than de first one and they get more support to, from de government to de crowd.

It show that something is definitely wrong with the way the pro league is run or somebody eh like somebody, to much come-mess in T&T football all round.

FS, a strong second tier !!!

I think de second tier is stronger than de first one and they get more support to, from de government to de crowd.

It show that something is definitely wrong with the way the pro league is run or somebody eh like somebody, to much come-mess in T&T football all round.

I had a discussion the other day with a corporate executive who advised me that football should copy the marketing techniques used by cricket. That way, he said, we would have massive crowds at all our matches. I pointed out that Trinidad & Tobago cricket matches are lucky to attract 20 people on a regular basis. You can't compare national team crowds with regular league crowds and if the Pro League received a fraction of the funding and media coverage of West Indies or T&T cricket, things would be different.

People see snapshots and judge the whole movie. The Super League does not get 1,000s of fans to every game. Certain one-off matches receive excellent crowds. Much of this is due to location of the venue. Certain teams like Point Fortin have developed a great following and we must work to maintain that. Unfortunately, most teams will see their support drop off once they play games in the stadiums. As for pitches, we can't even find a surface to train on due to the wet weather, so community pitches will be a nightmare at the moment. Malabar are probably receiving 200% more govt funding than any Pro League team so they should win something!

Why is there so much come-mess in our Football,i thought things would change with the new administration (TTFA)we have running Football, like their focus is only the senior men's national team,up to now no development programs for Football are in place.

I thought the Pro league was run by a private enterprize that why they don't get funding from nobody, but what i can't understand is why some teams in the national league gets funding and others don't (not sure),does the national function under the TTFA?

The Pro league thought they would have been able to make money and run a viable league like the EPL,La Liga etc but like this eh happening so they struggleing for survival every year.
