I believe this urgent issue needed a separate thread!!

Now that it is official that both Kelly and Semoy are out of the World Champs, let’s wish them both well and hope they can fully clear their names of any wrong doing and PED taking.

Putting that disappointment aside let’s look at the rest of our 100m women and our chances both in the individual 100m and 4x100m relay events.

Baptiste, Kelly-Ann          14 OCT 1986  4x100 Metres Relay,200 Metres,100 Metres (shock positive test)
Hackett, Semoy               27 NOV 1988  4x100 Metres Relay,200 Metres,100 Metres (Recently lifted ban reissued)

This leaves the following women athletes who are still in the individual 100m event and who will have to raise their performances to make up for the absence of both Semoy and Kelly from our Women's 4x100m relay team.

Ahye, Michelle-Lee          10 APR 1992   4x100 Metres Relay,200 Metres,100 Metres
Selvon, Kai                     13 APR 1992   4x400 Metres Relay,4x100 Metres Relay,200 Metres,100 Metres
=======================================
Brooks, Alena                  14 NOV 1991  4x400 Metres Relay
Durant, Kamaria              24 FEB 1991   4x100 Metres Relay
Thomas, Reyare              23 NOV 1987   4x100 Metres Relay

Both Michelle-Lee and Kai are still in the individual 100m and who knows if one of them can raise their game and make the Women's 100m final? So let’s wish them both luck and hope they keep their spirits up.
Maybe Ato can pop to our camp and offer them all a motivational pep talk!

Regards our 4x100m relay chances, I still think we can make the final with this depleted squad but our chances of medalling is now very slim unless one or two of the other teams mess up if we make it to the Women's 4x100m Relay final.

Losing both Kelly and Semoy is a big blow but I still think the remaining women we have got enough leg speed to all do something positive and make themselves and our country proud.

What do you guys think?

You forgot about Reyare.. She PBd last week in the 100.

Regardless, our chances of making the final is slim. Much less to medal.

I thought this would be the year our women 4x100 got the monkey off their back. Maybe we blight? Time for a bush bath.

Thanks, don't know how I overlooked her!
Reyare has now been updated to the list which means our relay squad is a bit stronger than I thought.
I think we are still quite capable of making the 4x100m relay final, so good luck to our ladies, keep your spirits up and do your best!  :beermug:
