The Jamaican was disqualified for a false start in the last World Championship 100m final in South Korea and will be eager to make amends in Moscow. Great Britain have not won a medal in this event for 10 years but James Dasaolu propelled himself into contention by running 9.91 seconds at the British Championships in July.
Another British medal hopeful is World Indoor Championship bronze medallist Shara Proctor in the women's long jump. The action also features the finals of the women's discus and 10,000m, plus the men's 20km race walk and the conclusion of the men's decathlon.
Analysis comes from four-time Olympic gold medallist Michael Johnson, marathon world record holder Paula Radcliffe and former 110m hurdles world record holder Colin Jackson.
