It would be great if we could still qualify ,but I am not holding my breath . The preparation of this group was poor .Many times there were only 7 or 8 players practising, if you can call it that . Any surprise then, that the team lacked organization , aggression or cohesiveness ( according to Coach Marlon ).The coach also complained about the girls' poor passing and poor technique.I have counted at least 7 starters in this game that were on the 2010 Under-17 World Cup squad, and 3 more on the bench . Pellerud may not be the most popular coach with his direct style of play, but at least he was able to mold the girls into a fighting unit that beat teams far better than Puerto Rico .The old regime of people like Marlon Charles , Izzler and company are a recipe for failure .

We really have to look at the big picture and ask ourselves if we want women's footie to thrive. We are are not that far away (trust me) we are not however using the resources available to us.Why Is the bigger question? They need to be spread around in the right places at the right times. Not just assume that our local talent will get us through to the next level. As our studioass reanna fan eluded too why wasnt Miss Schmidt invited? Why wasnt Miss Simmons from Pickering Ontario Canada invited either (to name 2 not there).
Miss Mollen was not invited to July's CFU's and look who's going to Vancouver? The TFFF needs to use every resource available. If the team and thats a big if the TTFF mgmt hierarchy needs to be more resourceful in all aspects towards the womens program goes.

This Haitian U-20 team is very strong, they beat the Dominican U17 and U-20 men in practice games before the tournament started.

Their records up to this point in the tournament
They beat Puerto Rico 4-0 , St. Kitts 4-0, Dominican Republic 4-0, Jamaica 1-0 (beat Jamaica with 9 players on the field). Jamaica by all account has the best u-20 women team in the Caribbean playing with over 7 over sea players from the US and Canada and  still lost to Haiti with two women down in the first half...

Look out for Haiti for the U-20 Concacaf final round, they have not conceded a goal yet in this tournament

Its great for CFU soccer that more CFU teams are starting to improve. Jamaica is a good team however they are not the best U20 team in the tournament. Having seven over-seas players means nothing. No disrespect however all it means that the JFF is not doing enough to develop their local pools. If the JFF was serious then why was their not a month long camp for the U20's preceeding this tournament. As far as womens football in the CFU region Trinidad is still the country that the rest are aspiring to beat. The gap is shortening as it is from the big-girls in Concacaf. Time will tell. Congratulations to the Haitians as with two wins they are assured the top spot in that group regardless of their next result.
Trinidad however still has it's fate in it's own hands & ill need some goal differential as well. Anybody aware of todays results yet?

The times Pellerud side beat better teams than Puerto rico who was playing? Who, if I remember correctly, dictated play and scored a goal with 3 assists during this world tour? The princess did. We cant judge the results now because Marlon does not have the best piece of what Pellerud was getting his results with. You saw what happen when he bench her doh during the cup eh?

Believe me....The understandings of the basics were always thin except with a select few of that squad.

In de end I wont blame Marlon for this too much. The talent he has to work with, outside of an obvious few(Walker,Abdul,McGee, and Helwig), are simply not good enough against sides who actually come to play team ball. My source from within said he actually told them to long ball it to walker as the only tactic :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

U-20 women beat Guyana.
T&T Express Reports.

Trinidad and Tobago's National Under 20 footballers secured their first win of the CFU final round of  World Cup qualifiers with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Guyana at the Pedro Marrero National Stadium in Cuba on Monday.

After losing their opening to Puerto Rico, T&T bounced back with a better showing after playing much of the game a player short.

Goalkeeper Keri Myers was ejected in the first half but her replacement Shalette Alexander came on and produced a solid performance for the Marlon Charles-coached outfit.

Khadidra Debesette, coming off a knee injury, scored for T&T in the 56th minute when she tapped in from close range following a cross ball and then netted a double and the winner in the 85th minute from the penalty spot.

Charles was satisfied with the win but is now focusing on tomorrow's encounter with hosts Cuba.

"The team played with a lot of  heart and determination today," Charles told TTF Media. " Their attitude to the game was great. They showed great team work and effort although playing with 10 players.

I think if we can produce again on Wednesday against Cuba then we can definitely top the group. We cannot take them for granted but I think the girls realize how important it is to go into that match and give their all if they are to advance in the tournament," Charles said.

T&T start team: Keri Myers (GK), Camille Borneo, Teneisha Cobham, Afiyah Matthias (Capt), Khadisha Debesette, Brianna Ryce, Khadidra Debesette, Kayla Taylor, Shante Helwig, Shanice Pierre, Adeka Spence.

Michael-j from what initial reports? when you get information it would be appreciated that it be shared. Theres nothing to hide. Please enlighten us please. Charles is satisfied? Satisfied? What journalism slang is that ;D We now must beat Cuba in order to move to the next round. The bigger question is why two RED Cards in two consecutive games. The Princesses must be more composed on the pitch. I see Miss Walker did not start? Did she play? Is he hurt? Anyone in the know please enlighten us all. Good luck ladies versus Cuba as its all or nothing so make us all proud.

From the Ragae Boyz forum

Jamaica’s National Under 20 Women defeated the National Under 20 of Dominica Republic 4-0 to end up second in Group E of the last stage of the CFU Qualifiers.

The Jamaican team which arrives tomorrow Wednesday at 2:15pm will have to wait until that day to find out if they qualify on the basis of the best Runner-Up in Group E and F

Zone E final standings

Haiti 9 pts
Jamaica 6 pts
Cayman 1 pts.
Dom. Rep. 1 pts.

Cuba has +4 goals differencial. Jamaica needs to finish at least 3 goals clear of Dominican Republic and hope Cuba draw or lose to T&T.

With Puerto Rico losing 0-1 to Guyana. Even with a win, draw or lose scenario between Cuba and T&T U20 Girlz in their last match Jamaica's Reggae Girlz have automatically been assured of the best second winner spot to advance to the 2012 U20 Girlz qualifiers next round.

No they don't , if two teams from two diffrent groups have the same points then it becomes a goal differential issue. Cuba already has six points do they not  :o however if Cuba is to lose to TnT today then its goal diff. between Cuba & Jamaica.

So the fat lady has not quite sung yet ;D

Check again! Cuba has 4 points, not 6. They drew 1-1 with Puerto Rico.

Good for the Reggae Gurlz if this is the case that Cuba & PR tied.

Anyone in the official know that confirm about that particular match.

To be frankly honest Trinidad & Jamaica are the two best CFU soccer powers and have been for years. The JFF has slipped a bit over the past 2 years however are still very strong. Looking forward to the enxt round already :applause:

I just borrowed the name from your site..the Haitian are referred to as "Les Grenadiers" for men and "Les Grenadieres" for women which mean roughly in English " Grenade lancers" or "the Bomb makers"

T&T U-20 women out qualifiers.
T&T Express Reports.

A 1-1 draw with hosts Cuba yesterday was not enough to put Trinidad and Tobago into the final round CONCACAF Under-20 Women's World Cup qualifying.

Trinidad and Tobago needed victory over the Cubans to fight for one of three spots available in the two groups of Caribbean qualifiers.

Janelle McGee put T&T ahead in the first half, but the equaliser put paid to T&T's chances of moving forward, as they finished second in the group with four points. The better second-place finishers of the two groups were Jamaica, who won their final encounter to finish with six points.

Earlier in the day, Guyana upset Puerto Rico 1-0, giving T&T the chance to top the group with victory over Cuba. But T&T could not secure full points, which ends a battling run by the young "Soca Princesses".

T&T lost their first encounter to Puerto Rico 1-0 after losing their goalkeeper to go down to ten players. They recovered with a 1-0 win over Guyana, but in their final match, a draw was not enough.

This is not good.

Who was missing from the T&T side ?

What about Lauren, our last under 17 captain ?

This is a joke, did Marlon Charles underestimate the other teams ? everyone importing now....

Glad to see Camille Borneo is back.
