I feel it for Japan, losing like that is worse than penalty kicks

Dat was pure naivety. Why at dat point in de game would you decide to launch a corner into de penalty area?

I absolutely love the subplots peppered throughout the World Cup. In the final group game against Poland, Japan stopped playing as the result in the Colombia-Senegal match was going in their favour and they didnít want to risk conceding goals/yellow cards which would lead to elimination. Ironically they went through on Fair Play points!

The Japan manager was ashamed, he stated publicly that he regretted his own tactics, and promised to make up for it in the round of 16. The shadow of the ethical transgression was clearly looming large as Japan decided to attack Belgium even as they were 2-0 up. Many would call it tactical naivety. I would call it redemption.

They took something away from football in that last group game. They gave something back yesterday.

Exquisite penalty by Rashford. Such composure and poise under immense pressure.

On balance perhaps a fitting outcome regarding which team advances. Nonetheless, Uribe, given the advantage that COL had on the 4th kick, should probably have gone for placement, less power and a higher percentage location on frame. Pickford had to dive.

Predicting a Brazil vs Croatia final

Brazil vs France will be a special semifinal but Brazil experience will win over a very young French side

How many of Brazil team actually train and ply their trade in Europe. Maybe Europe now got them figured out.

The Kompany foul should have been a penalty. But that is ok. They could lament they misfortune on the plane home.

Let's all remember that Dennis departed his association with Belgium to be associated with us. Bless you, Dennis.

Roberto Martinez is inching closer to coach Spain one day. Perhaps.

Read Pogba's biography and you'll appreciate that place of birth is only part of the equation. The people who came brought something with them.

I understand this sentiment. However, if yuh scrutinize those nations left it eh hard to hope against a couple ah dem. Certainly no Russia. And, ah sure Sweden's fan base is growing by the second. And so on and so on.
