I think the scene is Naps planned to use Mannie Ramjohn as home ground but due to issue with that field they have to play elsewhere.  but still strange that they end up at Ato Boldon stadium.  you would expect them to use skinner park or guaracara unless those grounds are unavailable today.

Nightmare....yes, that makes sense. 

One good thing is that quite a few Presmen and Napsmen live in Central (California, Couva, Freeport, Chaguanas etc), so it'll be more convenient for those fellas to make it home after the game. 

And regardless of where Pres playing, I know Presmen will always rePRESent de team, even if they playing outside we Longitude and Latitude...hahahahaha

Capitalising on Presentation San Fernando’s first points dropped this season, rival Shiva Boys stormed to the top of the BGTT First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League, South Zone Championship, yesterday, with a nervy 2-1 win over Princes Town.

Anderson Toussaint scored a late penalty for Princes Town but Shiva Boys managed to hold onto its advantage to go top of the table by a solitary point over the defending champion and former league leader, Presentation, which was held to a goalless draw by newly-promoted and third-placed Mayaro Secondary.

T&T Under-17 midfielder Levi Garcia opened for Shiva in the 34th minute, before Shaquille John doubled up for the match winner just after the hour-mark.

In the other South Zone matches, Naparima College secured its first win of the season, a 2-1 triumph over St Benedict’s College.

The East Zone saw many sparks, with a total of 16 goals and three red cards in three matches. St Augustine maintained its 100 per cent winning record with a 9-0 blasting of newly-promoted Valencia. Ricardo John was on the scoresheet with five goals, while Aikim Andrews, Triston Hodge, Akeem Garcia and Mickal Johnson chipped in with one goal each.

Another national U-17 player was on target this match day, as Brent Sam scored one goal in either half, combined with another goal from Kaylon Alexander, which saw San Juan North to a 3-2 win over El Dorado West. Defour Xaitire was sent off for El Dorado West in the 61st minute.

Meanwhile, Tyrik John, son of T&T highest ever national goal-scorer, Stern John, scored his second goal in three matches after Dharon Sutherland opened for Trinity East in the second half to see his team trump El Dorado East, 2-0. Two players, Corey Stewart (El Dorado East) and Shaydon Primus (Trinity) were both red carded for a scuffle in the 81st minute.

In Tobago, Pentecostal Light and Life High shocked Signal Hill Secondary beating the former national champion by a slender 1-0 score-line.

Playing at Signal Hill, Pentecostal’s captain Kareem Phillips scored six minutes into the second half to give his side its first ever victory over Signal Hill. Small forward Akeil Frank led the attack for Signal Hill but both sides took some time to settle in the first half. Phillips, Simba George and Shakeem Irvine created opportunities for Pentecostal.

Both teams came out of the dressing rooms pushing for a goal and Pentecostal was rewarded for its effort as Phillip tapped in a high cross from the right hand side over the head of the advancing goalkeeper Njerie Fermin.

Pentecostal then pushed for a second as Hakeem Baynes, George and Phillip pressured the Signal Hill defence. Pentecostal then opted to defend the slender lead with Andel Francis taking control of the Pentecostal’s defence.

Signal Hill pushed the entire team into attack in pursuit for the equaliser but Francis and the towering Marcus Felix kept Signal Hill at bay. But, the Bertille St Clair-led Signal Hill pressured Pentecostal with captain Shaquille Smith and Frank teaming up with Daniel Greig and Shaquille Archer. However, Signal Hill could not convert its chances.
 
Pentecostal’s forwards had several opportunities to double the lead with several counter-attacks but poor finishing denied them.

Naparima edge St Benedict’s in South.

Naparima College survived late pressure from St Benedict’s College to eke out a 2-1 win yesterday in the BG T&T/First Citizens Secondary School Football League South Zone at Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.

By halftime, the job was done for Naps who had a 2-0 advantage, although a late goal forced the San Fernando team to defend at the end.

Naparima looked more organised and therefore dominated most of the encounter. But a few flashes of individual brilliance, combined with Naps’ wastefulness, kept the La Romaine Lions in the match to the end.

Naparima’s early toil was rewarded in the 41st minute from a left side corner, which their skipper Martieon Watson powerfully nodded home from point blank range past St Benedict’s goalkeeper Kwasi John.

They made doubly sure with another strike in the 45th, this time thanks to poor defending from St Benedict’s.

From the time Michael Basdeo crossed from the right side, St Benedict’s back line failed to clear three times before Jabari Mitchell slammed in from 12 metres.

Naparima had several opportunities to put the match to bed, most glaringly from a free header in the 75th from Nicholas Dillon, but his weak effort never troubled the goal.

In the 88th, Shaquille Ferrier put a well taken shot into the Naps goal, which sparked more urgent defending from the team in blue up to the final whistle.

Still, the result means a deserved three points for Naps, who gained ground on leaders Presentation College San Fernando after they were held 0-0 by Mayaro Secondary. Over in Tobago, Pentecostal Light and Life pulled off a shocker with a 1-0 upset of Signal Hill Secondary.
Leaders Speyside played out to a 0-0 draw with Scarborough Secondary.

Pentecostal upset Signal Hill in Tobago Zone.

Pentecostal Light and Life High shocked Signal Hill Secondary, beating the former national champions by a slender 1-0 scoreline as action continued in the Tobago Zone of the BGTT Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) on Wednesday.

Playing at Signal Hill, Pentecostal captain Kareem Phillips scored in the sixth minute of the second half to give his team their first ever victory over Signal Hill.

Petite striker Akeil Frank led the attack for Signal Hill, but both sides took some time to settle in the first half. Phillips, Simba George and Shakeem Irvine created opportunities for Pentecostal.

After the break, both teams came out of the dressing room pushing for a goal. Pentecostal were rewarded for their efforts, Phillip tapping in a high cross from the right side over the head of the advancing goalkeeper, Njerie Fermin.

Hat-tricks from captain Krystal Taylor and Kerrecia Simon led defending champions Bishop’s High School to a romping 9-0 win over Roxborough Secondary in their BGT&T/First Citizens Girls Secondary Schools Football League Tobago Zone match at Signal Hill on Thursday.

Simon scored the only goal in the first half in the fifth minute, before Taylor got the first of her hat-trick five minutes into the second half.

Taylor got her second and third in the 60th and 65th minutes. Kristen Julien netted a double with strikes in the 70th and 75th minutes before Simon (78th, 80th) completed her triple.

Shervell Revello also found the back of the net in 72nd.

Scarborough Secondary were also winners on Thursday, beating Mason Hall 3-0 to remain at the top of the standings.

Elsewhere, Debe continued their unbeaten run the South Zone, defeating Mayaro Secondary 3-0 in their match on Thursday.

They lead the South Zone standings after three rounds. In other matches in the South, Fyzabad beat Point Fortin East 6-2.

Vessigny Secondary and Siparia East did not clash as expected after Vessigny withdrew from the South Zone competition.

In the East, St Augustine beat San Juan North 3-1 to stay in the lead.

And the North Zone saw action in two matches. St Francois Girls College edged Bishop’s Anstey High School 1-0 at Dibe Recreation Ground in Long Circular, while Tranquillity Government Secondary had it easier with a 3-0 whipping of hosts Providence Girls at Queen’s Park Savannah.

The other North Zone encounter between hosts Holy Name Convent and St Joseph Convent at Fatima College’s Ground did not kick off due to a mix-up with officials, and the match has been postponed.

The next round of matches for the Girls League will be played tomorrow, but the scheduled St Joseph Convent/Bishop’s Anstey fixture has been postponed.

So I was going Plymouth by mih self??!!  Chups!!  It looking like Shaw Park now unless the schedule change again sometime during the day......chups again.....

So I passed down at Shaw Park around 3:20 to see if Scarborough sec was playing and nada, zero, zilch was happening.....left and went Plymouth.  Saw one team warming up in blue didn't see the other team....around 4 - 4:10 I saw the team in blue talking to the officials.  So I say the other team didn't show up and the blue team won by default.  Turns out the other team in red was warming up out of my line of sight.  The discussion apparently centered around kit problems.  Blue team had enough players but not enough kits......

The other thing is I couldn't get anything to buy in the grounds.  Only after I done drive past all the bars and mini marts I reach in the grounds and realise I thirsty but it a lil too far to walk in de hot sun to get refreshments so ah harass mih bro to bring a pack of nuts and a Malta for me when he come......

Then I forgot to ask my brother which team is which before he left and went to the opposite side of the field.  So after about 15 mins of saying blue team and red team I finally asked someone next to me which team is which.  Goodwood was in blue and Mason Hall in red.

First,while they were walking out I kept counting 10 players for Goodwood....ah check about 4 times before I realised one player was in a darker blue than the others due to kit problems.  The next thing was the Goodwood fellas were generally smaller and shorter than their Mason Hall counter parts......

For the most part the game was played in Goodwood's half.  No quality football to speak of....no stand out players in red.  But it was obvious that Mason Hall was the better team.  By the half they were 3 - 0 up.  During the 2nd half, a few supporters (apparently from Goodwood) starting bawling at their number 15 to "give dem beats nah man, give dem beats.....all yuh done lorse already, so give dem beats..."  And number 15 obliged.  The few times he had the ball, is beats sharing.....he was a lively lil fella.....he gave his few supporters something to bawl out for.....ah was happy for them....

The game ended 5 - 0 in favour of Mason Hall.  At one point the #20 (whose name is Anton Pierre, I know that because a female teacher who arrived during the game started to make a setta noise and was calling out players by name.....) was throwing away sitters in front the goal.  He coulda score about 3.  When he finally score, ah coulda see de joy on he face.  He run and blow kisses for de same teacher who was bouffing him moments before.....

So mih home town team win and I happy.....on mih way home I saw the lights on in Shaw Park and a game in progress but I didn't bother to stop....so I'm not sure if that was the Scarborough sec game or another game.....

Naparima College continue to climb up the South Zone standings after they produced a 2-0 beating of bottom-placed Princes Town West Secondary yesterday, as the fifth round of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) got underway at several locations throughout the twin-island republic yesterday.

Currently third in the standings, Naparima (7pts) and last placed Princes Town (1pt) missed several easy opportunities to take the lead in the opening 45 minutes. However, 13 minutes after the resumption, a precise corner-kick from “Naps” player Hudson found the head of captain Watson, who made no mistake to find the back of the net (1-0). Into the 72nd, another swinging corner kick this time found the head of Naparima player Humphrey, who capitalised on his chance to give the visiting team a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Meanwhile South Zone table-leaders, Presentation College continued their unbeaten run of performances as they whipped St Benedict’s College 3-0 at the Commons in La Romain. The Presentation ‘Lions’ roared to victory with two goals coming from Shakiel Henry and the other, from Anjel, who successfully converted a penalty kick.

It was goals galore in the Central Zone yesterday as zonal leaders Carapichaima East mauled Couva West 20-0 and Chaguanas North dismantled newcomers Vishnu Boys 14-0.

In the Tobago Zone, zonal leaders Speyside crushed Pentecostal Light and Life 5-0 while Mason Hall produced the same score against Goodwood. Scarborough also affirmed their dominance over Bishop’s High with a 3-0 drubbing. The clash between Roxborough Secondary and Signal Hill saw the former emerge the victor 3-2.

And in the North Zone, top-of-the-table St Anthony’s made their presence felt when they eased past a struggling Malick Secondary 2-0. Additionally, second ranked St Mary’s showed good form when they breezed past Queen’s Royal College 2-0 while East Mucurapo and Diego Martin settled for a 0-0 result.

The “Green Machine” of St Augustine Secondary continued their flawless showing after producing a 4-0 beating of San Juan North. They have won their last five games and are favoured to top the zone. Second placed, Arima North fell 2-0 victim to fifth placed El Dorado West while Trinity also got the better of Valencia 2-0.

Caps pummel Couva West...Goals fly in Central

Yesterday was one of those days, as a merciless, unbeaten Carapichaima East Secondary pumped 20 goals past Couva West Secondary at Carapichaima’s school ground.

A goal in the first minute from Jeremy Trim was an ominous sign for Couva that a barrage would come, and a 5-0 halftime lead also told them they were in for a rough day. Just how rough they learned in the second 45-minute period, as they endured 15 more goals.

Ten of those came in the last 20 minutes, probably because the white flag was blatantly fluttering in the breeze by that time.

Justin Joseph, who also plays cricket for “Caps”, slammed in four of those in a 12-minute span, specifically in the 70th, 77th, 80th and 82nd. Simon Joseph (24th, 49th, 63rd, 83rd) would not be outdone, knocking in a beaver-trick as well.

A brace each went to Trim, Yaseem Rivas, Joshua Eneau, Larry Brown and Dareem Cox, while Darion Thomas (88th) and Shaquille St Clair (89th) had one each late on.

Chaguanas North Secondary also took advantage of their home turf, hammering newbies Vishnu Boys 14-0 in Chaguanas.

In the North Zone, St Anthony’s College kept their lead with a comfortable 3-0 win over Malick Secondary at Hasely Crawford Stadium’s training ground, but St Mary’s College kept on the “Tigers’” tail with a 2-0 win of their own over Queen’s Royal College at St Mary’s Serpentine Road, St Clair home ground. The Tigers had their fourth win in as many matches, though, and a match in hand over their closest rivals.

The other North match saw third-placed East Mucurapo lose some ground with a frustrating 0-0 draw against Diego Martin North at Fatima Ground.

Presentation College San Fernando continued their perfect run in the South, whipping St Benedict’s 3-0, while Naparima College beat Princes Town West 2-0, and Shiva Boys eased past Pleasantville Secondary 3-1.

St Augustine also continue to rule the East with a 4-0 drubbing of San Juan North Secondary, while Arima North Secondary and Trinity College East enjoyed 2-0 wins over El Dorado West Secondary and Valencia Secondary respectively.

Over in Tobago, five was the number of the day. Mason Hall Secondary and unbeaten leaders Speyside Secondary had 5-0 wins over Goodwood Secondary and Pentecostal Light and Life respectively, while Roxborough Secondary and Signal Hill Secondary shared five goals, with Roxborough prevailing 3-2.

Only Scarborough Secondary bucked that trend with a 3-0 triumph over Bishop’s High School.

I know that when the junior sec schools became five year schools that some school names would have been redundant. But there had to be a better solution to the renaming of the schools instead of just adding east,west.north and south. I have no idea which Eldo school was Blue Thunder or which Diego school is in ssfl?
