WICB to air Women’s Tri-Series LIVE on television

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Cricket fans across the Caribbean will get to see live action from the
first ever international women’s tri-nation series hosted in the region.

The WICB announced today that it will produce and make available for broadcast, the upcoming
Women's T20 International Series – featuring West Indies, England and New Zealand.

The matches will be aired on terrestrial broadcasters in collaboration with the Caribbean Media
Corporation (CMC).

Games will be played under lights from Monday, October 14 to Saturday, October 26 at the
historic Kensington Oval – which hosted the finals of the ICC World T20 three years ago. First
ball is 7 pm (6pm Jamaica Time).

Nelecia Yeates, the WICB’s Commercial Manager, said the WICB responded to the call of fans.
“Women’s cricket is on the rise in the region and across the world. As part of our mandate we
have embarked on this project, which will see the entire tournament being beamed across the
region. Fans have been calling for it and the broadcast will ensure that all matches will be seen
by as many people as possible,” Ms Yeates said.

“We will see some of the leading women’s cricketers in the world – including our own Stafanie
Taylor, Deandra Dottin and Shanel Daley – who are all rated among the best in the game. The
tournament promises to be action-packed and will be a great advertisement for women’s cricket
and women-in-sport in general.”

The three participating nations are among the top four teams in the world in the T20 and 50-over
formats. The Windies reached the semi-finals of ICC World T20 tournament in Sri Lanka a year
ago and were runners-up in the marquee ICC World Cup (50-overs) in India earlier this year.

The television coverage will feature an expert team of analysts, including former West Indies
batting great Desmond Haynes, who played 116 Tests and 238 One-Day Internationals in his
illustrious career.
