Collin Samuel
« on: October 15, 2005, 11:38:07 AM »
Hey guys I'm a Scottish Trinidad fan, Ive been rooting for you guys since my team(Dundee United)signed Jerron Nixon in 1993 when I was 9. I am so happy you guys have a chance to make it and I'll be really charging you guys on to victory against Bharain. Lattapy, Samuel, Nixon and Scotland have all played for us and I'm always happy to see Trinidad talent in Scotland. I'm a Samuel fan because although he has had a poor couple of years he is a player i believe has had an extremely hard time from the press and struggled to cope with that. When we signed him from Falkirk he was billed as the next best thing and I dont think he was ready for that. This season though, the fans are really getting behind him and it looks like he is becoming a real asset for us. I've always been a fan of the underdog and he certainly has been that since arriving in Dundee. Trinidad are big underdogs in national football and i will continue to support you. If theres anything you need to know about Dundee United based Trinidadians i'll do my best to tell you. Peace love and punk rock.x ;D

Fer Christ's sake - who let the Coagies on the site

Although I can understand why Dundee fans don't want to post on a Scottish boards at the moment. 'Mon the 'raer.

And Utd can GTF an' aw - the tapping minks

I hope the Perth Fermer still remembers that we still own them from last season

Ooops sorry - forgot we're all under the Trinbagian peace & love umbrella here. My bad  ;D

Falkirk favourite, Collin Samuel, making a name with new brand
By Jill Buchanan (Falkirk Herald)

Swapping the football pitch for the catwalk was former Falkirk fan’s favourite Collin Samuel.

But Sammie, as he is best known to supporters, isn’t turning his back on the beautiful game, instead he’s hoping to ensure the people attending matches locally are the best dressed in the country.

He is about to launch a new sportswear range and recently family, friends and fellow footballers were given a sneak preview at an event in Falkirk’s Park Hotel.

The clothing range was well received by the audience and is soon to be available through his own website.

Collin (32) arrived at Falkirk FC in August 2002 from his home in Trinidad, quickly establishing himself as a popular player by notching up 16 goals in 42 appearances.

He eventually moved to Dundee United for Ł100,000 in the summer of 2003 and has turned out for several other teams since then, including Luton and St Johnstone. He now plays for junior club Sauchie.

However, the striker has decided to branch out by launching Collin Samuel Brands and his first venture is a sportswear range, bearing his nickname, Sammie.

Designed for all the family, the colourful clothing includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts and jogging bottoms.

Collin, who was a member of the Trinidad and Tobago World Cup squad in 2006 and played against Sweden, said: “Football has been good to me and I’ve developed this brand for fans and supporters so they can feel part of it.”

He joins a growing number of footballers, albeit usually playing at a higher level, who have gone down the route of launching their own clothing range, including David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand.

The Conquering Lion of Judah shall break every chain.
