Norma James Caravan rolls into Cocoyea
Thursday, July 17 2014 (T&T Newsday)

The Norma James Community Caravan visited the community of Cocoyea on Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm with over 100 athletes and 15 coaches coming out in full force at the Cocoyea Sports Complex.

The community caravan is named in honour of former Special Olympics of Trinidad and Tobago (SOTT) Chairman Norma James. The Caravan seeks to promote development through sport in rural communities across Trinidad and Tobago as well as to recruit athletes and coaches. The athletes demonstrated various skills in their respected disciplines of football, basketball, aquatics and athletics. Also creating a buzz was a television news team which challenged the Goodwill players to a basketball match. Despite their valiant effort, the news team was defeated by the skilled Goodwill players.

The day ended in great fun and camaraderie as each fan and athlete was presented with either a Digicel branded umbrella or a canvas bag for their attendance and participation by the Digicel Foundation, a long time sponsor of the SOTT.
De higher a monkey climbs is de less his ass is on de line, if he works for FIFA that is! ;-)
