Penny Dreadful and other new shows
« on: June 23, 2014, 02:00:13 PM »
Anyone watching Penny dreadful? Later episodes you'll see some stellar acting from Eva Green. Overall a well done series, which I'm hoping will get renewed.

other series to keep you busy during the summer...

Peak Binders
Fargo
Those Who Kill Us
Ray Donovan (into 2nd season soon)

and I'm trying to stay focused on Dominion... low budget making it hard to take seriously.

I was coming today to talk about Penny Dreadful.
Well made. One of the scarier horror series out there.

Eva Green is a fine actress.
Let's not forget Timothy Dalton, a fine actor in his own right.

Watched the first 4 episodes of Penny Dreadful but nothing's really happened to make me interested yet, so I've sort of drifted from it... the cast is excellent, but the story is progressing way to slow, and there's not that much happening for me to be interested :(

yeah ... made it through the first three episodes (or two  - not sure) ... may or may not go back to it.  But I have seen the preview of that awesome acting scene that VB noted. Maybe I'll catch that episode before I commit.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Penny Dreadful continues to ge a good show.

However, the fighting scenes are pathetic.
So many times when surrounded by vampires they should have died but the vampires does just hold dem, look at dem and bawl 'til somebody kill them.

Good series but they need to get someone to choreograph those fight scenes better.

Depends on where they take it ,will stay on board .But I can tell already whoever wrote it was born before 1989.
The last season of anything I watched and liked was True Detective ,I enjoyed that.

Finally watched the finalé of Penny Dreadful. Fantastic actors, but direction/editing was terrible - so much wasted time, so many missed opportunities imo.
