Robert Francis. TT 1974 U19 Captain.

Good Morning Forum. I got news yesterday, that Robert Francis, former Naparima and TT 1974 U19 skipper, passed away after a battle with leukemia. He left his wife and 3 children(boy and 2 girls).  He lived in Toronto. When I get some more details, I will  pass it on to the forum. God Bless and RIP. Condolences to his family.

WOW! Sad to hear this news, my condolences to the family. I met him a few years ago when his oldest son come to play at the university where I coached. Wonderful gentleman and great family. I also visited and had dinner at their home with the family in Toronto while on a recruiting trip.

Yes, Robbie was a real cool guy. He was the perfect man for the skipper role. That tournament to Canada in 74 was one of the most memorable moments in my life. The comradery was close knit.  Even after all these years we greet each other with great fondess. I would meet him mostly in the summer when he use to  come to Baltimore to stay by another good southman, Nigel Atherly. I think his son has graduated. One daughter is a junior in college and the last daughter just finished HS. Boy what a turn in their lives. God Bless them.
