I almost forgot this, but read it in the newspaper today. As many of you may know, Patrick Vieira, ex-Arsenal captain, is married to a trini. As a result I've met him several times at trini fetes here in London. Big, big soca fan (seen him at several Machel concerts now). They now live near Cannes in France.
Anyways, they woke up some morning this week to find themselves feeling sick and groggy, and upon looking through the house, realised that they had been gassed, with the robbers then breaking in and taking what they want. They made off with loads of jewellery, cash and Patrick's mercedes benz, which was later found abandoned. Forensic police later found remnants of gas in the air conditioning system, which explains how the robbers went about things. They say it was Patrick, his wife Cheryl and daughter Cheries in the house at the time. I think Cheries is actually Cheryl's trini daughter from a previous relationship.
This is terrible. At least they weren't sickos who broke in, otherwise god knows what they could have done whilst the family was alseep. Prayers and best wishes to Patrick and Cheryl, hope everything works out Ok.
