Some of us fail to realize that these guys are just one year from playing "A" Colts. Yes U-16. Give the yutes are break nah. I could see allyuh thumping the senior men's team. Them is "pros". Some of these yutes still in high school, and may not even think about pro ball by the time they reach 19.

All I can say is wow!  In that game against Guatemala the 2nd and 4th goals are very revealing.  That Keeper not ready at all.  Is one thing to misshandle ah ball and it score, is an entirely different thing to not even touch a ball coming from that distance.  Then that dotish ass run out!  He feel he name Neuer?!  Wha de ass is this?  I only see highlights but I doh feel like that team was so strong to beat we so at all.  That red was rell rell bullshit!

Mad Scorpion

Is not that yuh wrong but please be gentle nah, is one of our youths. He need proper coaching and training.  Last night he was much better, though he was poorly positioned for the free kick. He stood too much behind his own wall leaving the left side of the goal open for the US player to pass the ball into the back of the net. We have given up 6 goals this tournament and 5 or them could have been avoided with stronger defensive play, specifically goal keeping. That said we have to work with the youth, to develop him.

You right, I need to remember that they can and do sometimes read these pages.  If he indeed has the potential and serviceable tools then I hope he gets the proper training to manifest it into reality.

Much Respect Mad Lion!

All yuh the post below is not mine, Ah copy it from wired868 because I believe is a relative of the U17 captain, Noah Powder post it. It makes sense and encouraging but falls back on us to prepare the youths better.

"We saw the potential of this team last night, the boys controlled much of the match having early chances to take the lead. What is MOST evident after last night is that TTFA, Ministry of Sport, parents and players have to develop a system, process and plan to achieve our goals because we are failing our youth. Last night I watched a group of our young Warriors compete strongly with the USA, our Warriors had 2 International Friendlies with Panama and 1 against a Panamanian U20 Club . Of the USA players 16 have lived in residency at Bradenton, FL training twice per day for over a year and a half, they played the following international matches:

January 20 2014 vs. France                         January 21 2014 vs. Norway
January 23 2014 vs. Scotland                      January 25 2014 vs. Turkey
August 2 2014 vs. China                             August 3 2014 vs. Mexico
August 4 2014 vs. Paraguay                        August 6 2014 vs. Turkey
August 8 2014 vs. Ecuador                          August 10 2014 vs. Brazil
November 28 2014 vs. England                    November 30 2014 vs. Australia
December 2 2014 vs. Brazil                         February 2 2015 vs. Panama
February 4 2015 vs. Panama                        February 20 2015 vs Bermuda
February 22 2015 vs. Bermuda

Imagine what is possible if we get our act together, we have the talent, we have the intellect we need the resources, believe and commitment. The USA live and play together for 18 months, they play 17 international matches but we fight them to the end. We can’t afford to waste this generation of boys nor the next. No more excuses, lets find the path to solutions."

Remind Cooper of this, so he should learn how to manage the players off the field. Build, don't break.

Small scenes Tobago28.  I of all people doh really like to engage in them kind of criticism.  I just see it and react but I eh too big to see ah point and adjust.  Clearly our youth have the talent and overall ability to play with and beat these teams.  We as pointed out in that posting don't ever seem to be really prepared for these competitions.  Is really sad that TTFA in this state because given all the financial resources that past through it's predecessor we should not at all be in this mess.  We come like ah mechanic diving ah car dat steady shuttin dong!

I eh mind as de players really underprepared, so they did the best they could.

However, de coaching aspect is piss poor.

All Caribbean teams play the same, kick to de forward even if no striker there, chase the game, hestitate to shoot, escort players in goal, eliminate de midfield and follow the ball.

They beat themselves.

Silly mistakes are made constantly.

U-17 Soca Warriors in must-win match.
T&T Guardian Reports.

T&T’s Under-17 footballers go into their third Pool A match of the 2015 Concacaf Under-17 Championship, against host Honduras tonight needing to avoid defeat to stay in with a chance of qualification to the World Cup.

The match between the Shawn Cooper-coached young Soca Warriors and Honduras, the third of today’s schedule kicks off from 9.30 pm (11.30 pm TT time) at the Estadio Francisco Morazan, San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

T&T is currently bottom of its six-team pool without a point after losing its opening matches against Guatemala (1-4) and USA (0-2) while Honduras is second on the table after blanking Jamaica 2-0 and drawing 1-1 with Cuba.

At the top of the standings is USA which drubbed Cuba 5-0 in its opener while Guatemala and Jamaica, both have three points and the Cubans, one.

Expected to return to the line-up for T&T is defender Sherwin Noel, who missed the encounter with the Americans after being red carded against Guatemala.

Having qualified as the best third placed team from the Caribbean Football Union, T&T is currently on a three-match losing streak, dating back to its 3-0 loss to Haiti in qualification and will need to pick up at least a point against a team it last faces at this level in 1988, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

In today’s early kick-offs, Cuba plays Jamaica from 4.30 pm (6.30 pm TT time) and Guatemala meets USA from 7 pm (9 pm TT time).

Tomorrow at the Olympic Stadium, Costa Rica faces Haiti, Panama comes up against St Lucia and Canada battles defending champions Mexico in Pool B.

The top team from each group after round-robin play advances directly to the World Cup and the other two places will be determined by the results of the final day elimination matches.

T&T Team

1-Levi Fernandez (GK); 3-Keston Julien, 4-Tekay Hoyce, 6-Kareem Riley, 7-Shakeem Patrick; 8-Joshua Burnett, 17-Jeankeon Alexander, 10-Morgan Bruce, 11-Jerren Nixon, 9-Chaz Burnett, 12-Kierron Mason; 14-Isaiah Hudson, 13-Kishon Hacksaw, 19-Noah Powder (captain), 2-Isaiah Garcia, 15-Darnell Hospedales, 16-Shobai Celestin, 18-Jean-Paul Rochford, 20-Tyrek James, 5-Shirwin Noel.

Honduras tops T&T, stays on track in CU17.
CONCACAF.COM.

SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras – Host Honduras (2-1-0, 7 points) remained unbeaten after three games in the 2015 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship, scoring twice in the second half to defeat Trinidad & Tobago (0-0-3, 0 points) on Thursday.

The match completed a Group A tripleheader at the Estadio Francisco Morazan, where Cuba (0-2-1, 2 points) and Jamaica (1-1-1, 4 points) played to a 1-1 draw in the opener, followed by first-place United States (3-0-0, 9 points) triumphing 4-1 over Guatemala (1-0-2, 3 points).

Dylan Andrade produced the game’s first goal in the 53rd minute.  After Trinidad had difficulty clearing the ball from its own box, the 16-year-old team captain – without a hint of hesitation -- hammered a right-foot effort from near the upper-right corner of penalty area off the left hand of goalkeeper Levi Fernandez and into the back of the net.

Three minutes later, the Catrachos almost doubled their advantage, when – from the same spot Andrade netted his goal – Darixon Vuelto tried to curl a left-footer inside the far post, only to see it sail just wide.

Chaz Burnett’s bid to equalize for Trinidad in the 64th minute came up short as his header from nine yards glided barely over the crossbar.

The Soca Warriors, however, would not give up the fight.  In the 87th minute, Noah Powder deposited a 40-yard free kick deep into the Honduran box.  Goalkeeper Michael Perello punched the ball away, but it fell to Jeankeon Alexander.  The San Juan Jabloteh forward controlled with his chest, before firing over the frame from 12-yards out.

With the Caribbean side continuing to push forward, Honduras secured an insurance goal.  A swift counterattack ended with Wisdom Quaye firing home from 20-yards out off Fernandez’s right hand.

Honduras returns to action on Sunday, facing the United States in a top-of-the-table clash.  The Americans can secure the Group A title, a place in the final and a spot in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup with a victory. Trinidad will meet Caribbean rival Jamaica that same day.

We need to keep better possession of the ball. If we can't do that then we will give Honduras too many chances to score and will eventually concede a goal.

I hope our Young Soca Warriors can keep better possession of the ball in the 2nd half.

If they can remedy that and be patient then more chances will come and they can evetually score on Honduras.

Honduras had more possession and definitely had more shots on our goal in the 1st half.

They fought hard creating some good chances.  With better preparation these boys have something to offer, it looks like the tournament is over for them but we need to salvage some points against Jamaica and Cuba. The boys deserve that for the way they have fought.

Just another day in TnT football against better teams in CONCACAF. From the youth level to the senior level we continue to see bad results. Beating Caribbean opposition is NOT progress simply because the Caribbean region is behind Central America
