For the fourth straight year, the T&T Olympic Committee and the Scotiabank T&T Foundation partnered in creating an opportunity for young atheletes between the ages of seven to 14 to express themselves and develop in a range principles at an Olympic Youth Camp in July.

The camp took place in tobago from July 7-12 and in Trinidad from July 21-25. It targeted national junior athletes with the aim of preserving T&T’s sporting and Olympic culture. The first camp was held in 2010. The athletes engages in art, song, dance, sport and educational sessions. During the camp, the young charges were challenged and inspired by the five Olympic principles—balance between body, mind and will, fair play, joy of effort, respect for others and the pursuit of excellence. The daily educational sessions included leadership, self esteem, communication, HIV/Aids awareness and Paralympic sport (T&T Paralympic Committee).

The athletes were introduced to the following sports, blind hockey, cheerleading, volleyball and tennis as well as traditional games such as rounders, hop scotch, jump rope, footsie, morals and marble pitch. The campers were also taken on zip lining and aqua aerobics field trips.
