slight correction to the thread title  - Q is still a program. it was a team effort - dey have bambry to fill in.

not so much due to Ghomeshi. BC went online and asked people to internet meme an image of his. Well that opened the doors for twitter and the entire meme thing backfired on BC.

About a week after that, the Ghomeshi incident broke and didn't immediately resonate with Americans because not everyone in the US is/was familar with him (I suppose because not everyone listens to public radio, and because he's not in every US public radio market). However, as the story developed, I recall reading an article about Cosby that referenced Ghomeshi and mentioned Buress' then recent clip. The more or less contemporaneous breakings in the news caused several writers to twin the personalities.

Unless I'm mistaken, ah doh think the meme request ocurred until about 2 weeks ago at best.

$55M lawsuit get dropped. ghomeshi have to pay $18K in legal costs to CBC. and today he formally get charged and is currently in custody.
