Seems like every concacaf nation making the necessary preparations. ...come on TTFA...World Cup qualification isn't an operation that occurs by preparing a team for 2 weeks before qualifiers...we played Panama. ..brilliant move by Hart to bring in some new blood. ..decent showing and promising potential. ..9 great...we always had/have a pool of potential. ..what next tho? Sighhh. ..Trinidad and Tobago is not a footballing nation unfortunately. ...because we fail to prepare...This preparing to fail!...prime example. ..women's team!
Soca in mih vein, Soca in meh blood
Soca in yuh vein, Soca in blood,
Soca in we vein, Soca in we blood,
It's a heart of love, can't deny soca, cuz its good fuh de soul...
Trinidad and Tobago jump up now!

Me
Yes, it is a shame G. Best never played in a WC. NI was not strong enough to challenge Euro teams for WC qualification in the 60s and 70s. This guy was special on the field. But off the field he was ah drinker. That did not help stay long in the English football. He played some nice ball with Steve David for LA Aztecs.

Gold Cup unaffected, but CONCACAF concerned.
T&T Express Reports.

The Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean Association (CONCACAF) has issued a release stating that its competition, including the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup is unaffected, but expressed concern about corruption indictments brought against its former president Jack Warner and his successor, Cayman Islands chief Jeffrey Webb.

Both men were among nine FIFA officials and five corporate executives indicted by the United States Government on racketeering, conspiracy and corruption charges yesterday.

The CONCACAF release in response stated:

"The Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) is deeply concerned by today's developments, in the arrest of several international football officials including those belonging to our Confederation. The Confederation will continue to cooperate with the authorities to its fullest capacity," the regional football body said.

The release added further: "At present, CONCACAF is not in a position to comment further on the specific allegations, which have been referred to the appropriate legal counsel through the pertinent channels. CONCACAF continues to operate in the ordinary course of business, hosting all of its upcoming tournaments in a successful and timely manner, including the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup."

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

USA's DaMarcus Beasley offers to come out of retirement for Gold Cup
Grant Wahl (Sports Illustrated).

DaMarcus Beasley, the only U.S. male to play in four World Cups, has told U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann he’s willing to come out of his international retirement to be part of the squad for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup.

After being approached by Klinsmann to gauge his interest, Beasley has been named to the U.S.’s 35-man preliminary roster, which was released on Wednesday. Beasley says he told Klinsmann that he will accept a call-up to the final Gold Cup roster if Klinsmann wants him.

Beasley, 33, has 121 national team caps and played in every World Cup from 2002 to 2014. He had originally announced his international retirement in December 2014.

Klinsmann said there were three reasons he asked Beasley to consider coming back into the fold:

• On-the-field reasons: Klinsmann still considers Beasley, who now plays for the Houston Dynamo, one of the U.S.’s top left backs.

• Off-the-field reasons: Klinsmann likes the experience and leadership of Beasley, who captained the U.S. to the 2013 Gold Cup title.

• Just win, baby: Klinsmann wants to field the best possible team and win the Gold Cup, as opposed to using it for development purposes.

If the U.S. wins the tournament, it will qualify automatically for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia. If the U.S. doesn’t win this Gold Cup, it would have to go to a playoff against this year’s winner to decide who goes to Russia in 2017.

Beasley and Klinsmann “spoke at length, and I took my time to think about it,” Beasley said. “So I am available for the Gold Cup if he wants me to play.” Beasley has started all of the Dynamo's 15 matches this season.

Somewhat surprisingly missing from the U.S.’s 35-man preliminary roster is Minnesota United winger Miguel Ibarra. Other notable omissions include Geoff Cameron and Jermaine Jones, with the latter nursing a recent groin injury. The final Gold Cup roster has to come from the 35-man preliminary list. Teams will be allowed to bring in new players for the knockout rounds, but they have to come from the 35-man list.

By Inshan Mohammed.

Trinidad and Tobago national men's senior team head coach Stephen Hart has submitted a 34-man roster for the upcoming 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament which is set to kick-off this summer in the United States from July 7 - 26.

While all other countries has submitted 35 players, Trinidad and Tobago went ahead and named just 34 and is currently looking into adding an additional player to bring the squad up to 35.

The Soca Warriors meanwhile, are scheduled to take on Guatemala in their opening encounter on July 9th in Chicago. They then meet Cuba in Phoenix on the 12th and then completing it's group stage game against the mighty Mexicans 3-days later in Charlotte.

Good common sense selections by BraveHart. Good squad to cause ompetition for paces
1. Hard luck Julius James. Maybe something he knows that we don't know or maybe the standard in defense is so much higher now (and I think it is), that even a quality defender (even if fit) cyah break through.
1. Also hard luck Cornell Glen. You will always be a great player. Maybe BraveHart thnks that you are just too old to invest in, at the expense of a youngster with possibly 10 more years potential.
Supportin' de Warriors right tru.

Hart calls up uncapped quartet.
T&T Guardian Reports.

Soca Warriors coach Stephen Hart has named uncapped quartet Kadeem Corbin (St Ann’s Rangers), Kaydion Gabriel (Central FC), Elijah Belgrave (Police FC) and goalkeeper Adrian Foncette (Police FC) in a 34-man squad submitted by the T&T Football Association  to Concacaf ahead of the Concacaf Gold Cup 2015 which kicks off in the USA next month.

The trio of Corbin, a former national Under-20 striker and ‘Most Valuable Player’ of last year’s Caribbean Football Union Under-20 Championship, right-back Gabriel and defender Belgrave had their first senior national team outings against Curacao in a 1-0 friendly loss last Friday in Willemstad, but that encounter will not be considered an official international by FIFA, as the host were allowed to play two separate teams in each half against the Soca Warriors, something which was agreed to by both teams as they continued preparations for their respective international engagements.

Foncette on the other hand was the third choice goalkeeper for the Soca Warriors during last year’s Caribbean Football Union Cup and along with Japs North East Stars custodian Cleon John, who has one cap from in 2013 will be hoping to unseat regular duo, Jan-Michael Williams and Marvin Phillip.

The roster of the T&T squad and 11 other participating teams was revealed by Concacaf  on Wednesday, but the Soca Warriors were the only team to submit a 34 players  instead of the full provisional 35-player rosters for the tournament. According to Concacaf rules, the binding rosters will serve as the foundation for teams to select their final rosters that will ultimately compete in the Confederation’s flagship national team tournament, from July 7-26.

In line with the Concacaf Gold Cup 2015 regulations, the preliminary rosters publicized will provide the total universe of players from which each national team may choose its initial 23-player roster. Each national team will also be permitted to make up to six replacements to that 23-player list after the conclusion of the tournament’s group stage. Those replacements must also come from the provisional list of 35 published today.

The final 23-player roster announcement will be made by Concacaf and the participating member associations on June 23. When asked to explain why T&T did not use its full quota of players for the initial roster after the Concacaf website initially showed  the T&TFA had submitted only 30 players, coach Hart said the problem was already rectified.

He explained, “It was a simple error by both parties because Concacaf had originally asked us for a list of 30 players and we did that, but then they came back and said that we had room for five more players. “But during that time we were in Curacao for the friendly encounter, so we forwarded the information to them with regards to the other players to add to the team, but by then they had already did their lines-up for the story which was seen on the website.

Commenting on the selection of the squad, Hart said the reason he did not include a few emerging younger players like Shannon Gomez, Neveal Hackshaw, Alvin Jones and Jomal Williams, was because he felt it was much wiser and important at this time for them to be part of the Zoran Vranes-coached Pan American Games and Olympic qualifiers squad.

He added, “Unless it’s absolutely necessary it will serve all parties involved well. Because it will make no sense to have them in the senior squad and take them to tournaments and leave them on the bench, when they could be helping the cause of the Pan Am and Olympic qualifying teams. “At those tournaments they will be of much more importance to their teams and also be able to gain some much needed exposure and experience.”

“At the lower level, they will more than likely start every match, and if they are needed for the senior team, then they can be drafted back into the squad when the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers begin for us,” said Hart. For this year’s Gold Cup, host USA is the defending champion and along with the 2013 title, secured half a ticket to the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.

The Americans could clinch a berth in that intercontinental competition by defending their title in 2015. If the champion of the 2015 Gold Cup is any team other than the USA, that team will qualify for a playoff match against the Americans to decide which Concacaf national team will represent the region in the next Confederations Cup.

Not included in the squad named by Hart are the long-term injured trio of Hughtun Hector (Hanoi T&T/Vietnam), Kevin Molino (Orlando City/USA) and Seon Power (Chainat FC/Thailand) while USA-based duo, defender Julius James (San Antonio Scorpions/USA) and midfielder Kareem Moses (Edmonton FC/USA), were both overlooked.

The 12 national teams qualified for this year’s tournament are, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, T&T and USA.

T&T Gold Cup 2015 Provisional rosters

T&T GK (4)—Adrian Foncette (Police); Marvin Phillip (PFCC); Jan-Michael Williams (Central FC), Cleon John (North East Stars)

DF (10)—Radanfah Abu Bakr (HB Koge/Denmark); Sheldon Bateau (KV Mechelen/Belgium); Daneil Cyrus (Ha Noi/Vietnam); Aubrey David (Shakhter Karagandy /Kazakhstan); Gavin Hoyte (unattached); Justin Hoyte (Millwall/England); Yohance Marshall (Juventud Independiente/El Salvador); Carlyle Mitchell (Seoul E-Land FC/Korea Republic); Mekeil Williams (DirecTV W Connection), Elijah Belgrave (Police FC)

MF (11)—Andre Boucaud (Dagenham & Redbridge/England); Cordell Cato (San Jose Earthquakes/USA); Keron Cummings (North East Stars); Sean De Silva (Central FC); Kaydion Gabriel (Central FC); Khaleem Hyland (Genk/Belgium); Dwane James (North East Stars); Joevin Jones (Chicago Fire/USA); Leston Paul (Central FC); Lester Peltier (Slovan Bratislava/Slovakia), Kevon George (Columbus Crew),

F (9)—Trevin Caesar (San Antonio Scorpions/USA); Jonathan Glenn (IBV/Iceland); Kenwyne Jones (Cardiff City/Wales); Devorn Jorsling (Defence Force); Atualla Guerra (Central FC); Willis Plaza (Central FC); Rundell Winchester (Portland Timbers 2/USA); Shahdon Winchester (DirecTV W Connection), Kadeem Corbin (St Ann’s Rangers).

:applause: Makes absolute sense. Also points to an understanding of sorts between Hart and Vranes in the common interest. Looking forward to seeing a common understanding also achieved in the administrative corridors because success comes as a combination of on the field and off the field.

Hartie.... all group tricky.

We get a very good group, which group you prefer?

Take care of Guatemala and Cuba and then worry about Mexico.

This is a very manageable group.
Sadly a lack of prep makes any group tricky.

I already planning a sick day for the Mex game.  ;D

Well what does work spectacularly for David Luiz? lol.

Seriously though, ball-playing centre backs are totally underappreciated - if you have a weak defensive line-up when it comes to passing and control, a good team will pressure you into losing it. If they're reluctant to step up and take the ball it can stifle your passing game as well.

The defence can be/are the start of attacking play, and bad passing from them can gift many a goal away.

Judging from the last 2 games we played and no goals from the past 5 games for T&T, I predict.

T&T 0 v Guatemala 1
Cuba 1 v T&T 1
Mexico 2 v T&T 0

Hart seems like he just cant go up to the next level of coaching.

What I don't get is, the T&T national team has been inactive months between games and what do our coaches do in the meantime?

They go to local games, but do they actually try to improve their coaching?

We playing friendlies to experiment, that is the reason for them.

Dudes, unless Hart get the players for more than two weeks with at least two tough games, nothing will change. National coaches do not have the luxury of time as the club coaches do. That why it is imperative that club players selected for national duty must ready for tactics, strategy and set plays. No national coach should do stamina and fitness work. That should already be done at club level. The players themselves must do their individual bit to stay fit. The only players who should working on fitness are those coming off injuries or some of the youth players who are be groomed. Hart needs time to get this team to play right. Off course Brent needs to stop f---ing up with the money. Hart needs and his staff needs the money. The players need their money. He seem to forget the position he was in when Jack was around. I may not agree with his strategy, because politics is involved. But He correct in demanding  that TTFA show transparency where tax payers money is involved.
