Where is the ref from?
USA

I was now coming to post how nobody in the studio talking about how bad the ref is, and how FIFA need to do something about the poor officiating.

No ref from the US should be officiating at the semifinal stage when the US has/had a continuing interest in the GC. There are enough officials from non-involved nations to rotate unquestionably disinterested referees.

Hint of offside on the play preceding the penalty call.

Yep. But pity these stations don't show the press conferences. That's where fireworks will fly.

The game was chippy from the start and some controversial calls were made including a straight red for a Panama forward in the 1st half. Despite that, Panama took the lead only for the ref to award Mexico a questionable penalty in the 89th min......then all hell broke loose.

What is with these yanks trying to sissify football? This is a rough game and refs do get roughed up in football. I don't think I could watch this gentrified kind of football anymore, where has these commentators been to have said that they have not seen this in football? It's obvious they are talking about American football because river pate boca juniors certainly did all but kill each other. Liverpool and Everton all but demolish their stadiums. These politically correct yanks should stick to baseball and leave football alone.

History making Reggae Boyz stun USA
FIFA.com

Darren Mattocks and Giles Barnes were on target as Jamaica claimed a major upset with a 2-1 defeat over defending champions USA to reach their first-ever CONCACAF Gold Cup final.

Two goals in the space of five first-half minutes at the Georgia Dome were enough to give Winfried Schafer's Reggae Boyz the victory despite Michael Bradley reducing the deficit at the beginning of the second half as Jamaica held on to become the first Caribbean side to ever reach the final.

After an uneventful opening quarter, Jurgen Klinsmann's five-time winners began to dominate midway through the first half as Aron Johannsson tested goalkeeper Ryan Thompson and then Gyasi Zardes fired over the crossbar with a powerful effort as they searched for the opener.

Moments later Johannsson forced a mistake from an under-pressure Thompson, who failed the clear the ball, as the former kicked the ball into the side netting, then Fabian Johnson forced a diving save from the Jamaica stopper.

But against the run of play, Jamaica took a shock lead as Vancouver Whitecaps striker Mattocks flicked on from Kemar Lawrence's long throw-in, first beating goalkeeper Brad Guzan with his effort, which then struck the inside of the post before bobbling over the line.

The opener seemed to knock the co-hosts for six and it did not take long for Barnes to send his perfect free-kick on the edge of the penalty box over the defensive wall and past a diving Guzan to make it two.

The Unites States came out all guns blazing in the second half and it did not take them long to reduce the deficit. Just three minutes in, Johannsson brought a save out of Thompson but the keeper fumbled the ball out to Bradley, who made no mistake as he pulled one back from close range.

The goal gave the co-hosts renewed hope and a free-kick followed moments later after Johannsson was brought down by just outside the 18-yard box, but Thompson managed to keep the ball out. Clint Dempsey had a near miss close to the hour mark and John Brooks' header almost got past Thompson 10 minutes later, but Jamaica held on to reach their first-ever final.

Herrera in the press conference trying so set a record for shoulder shrugs.
I wish I knew what he was saying.

Only thing I made out is "Asi es futbol", "That's football."

T&T best attacking team.
T&T Express.

THE consensus among many journalists and other media professionals attending the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup was, when in full flow Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors were the best attacking team at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The view was shared as well by CONCACAF officials who travelled from venue to venue across the United States for the matches. In their final match, the exhausted Warriors drew with Panama (1-1) after 120 minutes before going 6-5 in a penalty shoot-out at the quarter-final stage.

Panama managed the game better in very hot conditions and were the better team over 120 minutes. Even so, T&T showed glimpses of good attacking in the first half, and the ease in which Cordell Cato and Joevin Jones skipped past Panama defenders in the early stages was impressive, before fatigue seemed to take a toll on them.

Trinidad and Tobago head-coach Stephen Hart said: “We scored on everyone,” reminding those present that in four matches, T&T had put in nine goals. And except for the wild 4-4 draw with Mexico, he believed they defended pretty well also.

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

The Panamanian fed has already reached out to CONCACAF regarding yesterday's ugly events.

Hopefully we note Mark Geiger's name as a ref we don't wish to see near any of our fixtures, home or away. His assistants contributed to the decision-making and should also be duly noted.

He should be suspended but I doubt that will happen, definitely not in wcqs ....

Ey Panama deserve to go home. They played nasty football the entire tournament. The penalty claim was legit. Foul or no the referee let play go on then number 5 dived on the ball. If you look at the replay he knew exactly where the ball was and dived on it. It's a straight up penalty.

If we didn't have a hispanic referee when Panama played us  we would of gotten alot more calls as well. Go home Panama. Happy Mexico made it instead of them.
