Renny Quow opened his season with a decent 200m in 20.78 (+1.3w).

Jereem Richards also won his 200m section race in 21.18.

Remember Deon Lendore lost to Kirani running 45.18 and was bashed simply for not winning! Now he wins running 45.14.

See why losing sometimes is not always 'losing'. He lost to Kirani running avery good time. Keep on improving Lendore. Future still bright!

Good season opener from Burns. RT still running disappointing times. At this phase in his career he should NOT be running that slow in 200M SMH

I don't think anyone was bashing Lendore. Some including myself is just weary of the work load that he is under at A&M and whether or not he will remain viable for the summer season. His performances this season are quite important. His country will need him at top form in Beijing and on a personal level this season dictates what his first contract will be like. So the forecast is longer than just the next few months.

Overall some solid early season/ opening times. I think we should have a solid performance at world champs barring injury. Praying that all our athletes stay healthy.

RT glad to see him run 10.0x early season. Keep improving and improving the 200.

KAB glad to see her back would love to see her get 22.4x by mid season. Seems like none of our sprinters like the 200 lol. So impressed by her 13.04 in the hurdles.

DL will keep getting better but I just hope he doesn't get burned out by world champs time.

MB.. So happy to see him run those times again. Only means good stuff for team t&t.

Happy to see EC and EM out there too as well as Josanne running  a 57. Can't wait to see if she can get 55 again and them move forward from there.

Looking forward to MLA. Any news on Kai selvon since her DNF the other day?

I believe MLA was due to run the 200m yesterday and her race got rained out.

I suspect she was planning to challenge the 200m WL of 22.50 so we will have to wait a bit longer to see what she can do outdoors over the 200m this early in the season.

Also Machel Cedenio is running the 400m against a relatively strong field at that same Tom Jones Memorial meet in Florida tomorrow. The field includes the Borlee brothers from Beligum and American Najee Glass.

6 Bingham, Michael Great Britian 45.50 46.59 1
-- Hall, Arman JR Florida 45.75 DNF 1

Machel Cedenio did not take part in the 400m as originally billed in the startlist so let’s hope he is not sick or injured. Two more sprinters go sub-45 so it looks like the 400m is going to be very competitive this season.

KAB's time of 10.98 is her first legal sub-11 of the 2015 season and should move her into 4th position in the World Top List just behind MLA. (http://www.iaaf.org/records/toplists/sprints/100-metres/outdoor/women/senior/2015)

Bledman's time of 10.01 in a 1.5 wind is the new 100m world lead that should put him at the Top of the World 100m list for the moment until we start getting the expected legal sub-10s from the top male sprinters as the 2015 season progresses. :applause: well done KAB and Keston Bledman. Keep improving as the season unfold.

I see the American athletes did very well in different T&F disciplines at the Drake Relays event. This year will be interesting

« Reply #101 on: April 27, 2015, 04:20:26 AM »
Just got news that MLA ran 22.01 yesterday in Texas at the 2015 Bobcat Classic but she had the help of a 2.9 tailwind.

I reckon that MLA would still have ran a 200m world lead even if the wind conditions were legal (+2.0 or less) based upon the current legal 200m world lead being 22.42 by the American white hope Jenna Prandini.
See link: http://www.iaaf.org/records/toplists/sprints/200-metres/outdoor/women/senior/2015
By my calculations MLA would have ran a 22.18 in still wind conditions which is still faster than the current legal world lead. Also only 4 female athetes equalled or bettered 22.18 over 200m last year so that is a good sign that MLA can be a serious contender in both the 100m and 200m at the upcoming World Champs in August barring injury.

I think that based upon this MLA 200m time and KAB's 22.91 200m in her outdoor season opener last weekend that T&T could have fielded a serious women's 4x200m relay team with medal potential at World Relays in Bahamas next weekend.
If only Kayelle Clarke and Semoy Hackett were available I think T&T would have had the personnel to take on the workload in the 4x200m relay on day 1 without it negatively affecting our chances in the 4x100m relay on Day 2 and we could have been in a strong position to win a medal both in the 4x2 and 4x1 on days 1 and 2 respectively at the 2015 World Relays in the Bahamas.
But as things are its likely to be between USA, JA, Bahamas and possibly Nigeria pressing for medals in the women's 4x200m relay in the Bahamas on day 1 without a T&T women's 4x200m relay team in the mix.

Also note in section 2 of the 200m Finals at the 2015 Bobcat Classic in Texas that Reyare Thomas placed 2nd in a time of 23.41 in a just legal 2.0 tailwind which was 4th overall for the Finals.

What do you guys thinks?

A number of young T&T athletes have been doing well in the US in the last week. I posted a link to an Express article here a few days ago but with Flex fixing some issues with the site my post was removed.

Tallman told me that the missing posts should be back by Thursday so hopefully your missing posts will be back by tomorrow.

Quite a few of the posts and threads I created on the weekend are also temporarily missing.

Several young T&T athletes had good performances in recent events. Keep improving!

Jamol James clocked a couple PBs (personal bests) at the Duel in the Desert track and field meet, in Arizona, USA, on Saturday. The Arizona State University student won the men’s 100 metres dash in 10.15 seconds, and topped the 200m field in 20.96. James also competed in the long jump, finishing fourth with a 6.87 metres leap.

Congrats to Lendore! I was getting a bit concerned after seeing his indoor season.

Cedenio should enter the sub 45 club tomorrow. He will be running against his rival Donkey kong in Cayman. Dont miss this one. I know Socapro staying up late to watch this one.

She didn't run the final did she? Semoy was listed to run but she didn't. Not sure why.

We have to 2 strong girls right now. I think both can make the final. SAFP, VCB, Elaine Thompson, KAB, MLA, Torie Bowie, Blessing, Murielle. That's my line up but so much can happen between now and then...

Hoping he has a good race. Seeing how Lendore and Cedenio ran this week if we can get three T&T quarter milers running good times all at the same period this will be a special time in T&T track
