Cedenio and Borel to compete this Thursday DL in Stockholm.

Women 100m should be interesting. Top sprinters in that race this Thursday

Better luck next time Ms Borel. Maybe you have been doing too much in a short time. From Pan American Games to London to Stockholm in a short period.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Cleopatra Borel finished sixth in the women’s shot put, at the Bauhaus Athletics IAAF Diamond League meet, in Stockholm, Sweden, yesterday.

Indeed. A true come back king. I'm going out on a limb with this one. . Cedenio, Gold in Beijing.

The camp he is in is not known for producing top 400m runners. With that type of kick, I wouldn't be surprised if he could run the 200m in 20.1x or less.

We don't know that for sure until the NAAA TT names the team to Beijing.

Unfortunately most of our quarter-milers seem to have this heart attack come from behind in the 100m running style.

Lalonde does it and Quow also does it.

Solomon and Lendore are probably more even-paced and tend to cause less strain on our hearts as they tend not to fall so far behind.

We have to admit though that Cedenio's running style is exciting to watch even though those who have heart problems are not advised to watch his races live.  :nailbiting:

Well done Cedenio and it's ok Cleo. You've done so much already.

SAFP won't be beaten in Beijing unless injury or False start. She's too good.

The Americans have some serious talent coming up their ranks. Seventeen year old Kaylin Whitney and they have the young Brommel.

Canada has De Grasse.  Jamaica with Elaine Thompson. T&T young athletes should rise to the occasion

Entertaining times ahead

According to Track and Field news, TT will not win a medal at this coming worlds:

I think Cedenio, Walcott and even Borel, will prove them wrong.

They have the cheek to put Great Britain medalling in the Men's 4x4 in front of T&T?

I hope Deon Lendore and our other top quarter-milers all read that diss.

In fact I will post the link on their twitter pages when I get the time.

Don't take these people too serious Soca.. They also have Elaine Thompson winning bronze while running for Great Britain.

I know our women's 4x100 team has some issues. But I don't think GB will medal over us. Especially if MLA runs the 4x100.

I predict 3 to 4, maybe 5 medals for TT:

Women 4x100
Men 4x400
Walcott Javelin
Cedenio 400m (providing that he is chosen)
Borel Shot put

I don't know Barataria. MLA is not 100%. I think she will probably make herself available for the 4x100.. Not the individual.

As for KAB, she had a very disappointing Pan Am. I could name about 6 other medal contenders who are currently running better than her:

Dafne Schippers
Shelly Ann Fraser - Pryce
Torie Bowie
English Gardner
Blessing
Muriel Ahoure

KAB will need to be at her best to challenge anyone of the above.

As  for Flash,  his season has been a nightmare. He dropped out of the Pan Am due to injury. He hasn't run sub 49 as yet. I doubt that he will be a serious medal contender in the 400mh.

Indeed. Best of luck. Near the beginning of the season, I predicted 5 to 6 medals for us at the Worlds. However, since the injuries to MLA , Lendore, Flash and Thompson, it would be hard to get near 6 medals.

God willing, next year we could see our best Olympics with 6 to 7 medals:

Flash 400mh
MLA 100 or 200m
Men 4x100
men 4x400
women 4x100
Walcott Javelin
Cedenio 400m

Of course there is always a surprise or 2 for us. In 2008 it was Thompson. And in 2012, it was Gordon and Walcott.

MLA and Lendore returned to the track yesterday in Atlanta

Trinidad & Tobago’s pair of Semoy Hackett, 23.27, and Michelle-Lee Ahye, 24.13, were third and sixth respectively.

Deon Lendore of Trinidad & Tobago made a return to competitive action with 45.94 for 7th. Mike Berry, also of T&T, was 4th in 45.77.

Official results for TTO athletes who took part in 2015 Atlanta Track Meet!

http://www.ptgrouponline.com/Live/2015/ATL/150801F001.htm

Perfect Timing Group - Contractor License         8/1/2015 - 8:28 PM

                          Emory University

I believe MLA runs in lane 5 in this race. She had a slow start as per usual.
Not sure which lane Kai Selvon is running in but its either lane 1 or lane 8.
Welcome back to both ladies and lets hope they both remain injury free for the rest of the season and can both make the trip to Beijing.

Lendore reverses the script on Mike Berry and Wariner from a week ago. Pretty crappy track(installed in 1995 and is made from recycled Nike shoe soles), so I would put this run at about 45.5/4 on a proper surface. No where near the form he was in 3 months ago, but I would say bring him to Beijing and have him run the heats of the 4x4 and see what he does. It also enables us to rest another one more of our individual competitors.

Can you please post the link to the official results from that Meet that Deon competed in yesterday?
Many thanks.

Regards your statement I've highlighted above, you make perfect sense. Lets hope our NAAA's are thinking the same.

And I won't be surprised if Lendore puts down our best leg in the 4x4 Heats in Beijing to convince the team management that he should also run a leg in the 4x4 final to help maximize the chances of our team winning the gold medal.

A fresh Lendore who does not get selected to run the individual 400m in Beijing will be quite hungry to win a 4x4 World relay medal to add to his résumé as he gets ready for the big one in Rio.

I don't think any of the other quarter-milers in this race are even in the World Top 50 List this season while Renny Quow is at no.16 with a SB of 44.54. Quow was meant to win this race easily which he seemed to have done.

Michelle Lee Ahye at start of 100m at ISTAF Berlin 2015

Unfortunately MLA pulled up in the race with what seems to be another hamstring pull. This might have signalled the end of her 2015 season. Lets hope MLA recovers fully and can have an injury free season next year so she will be at her very best for the Rio 2016 Olympics.
