Hope agrees Owls deal
PA Sport

Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of Hallam Hope on a loan deal from Everton.

Hope arrives from the Barclays Premier League club on a youth loan until January 1, 2015.

20-year-old Hope joined the youth set-up at Goodison Park from Manchester City in 2010 before spending last season on loan at Sky Bet League Two clubs Northampton and Bury, where he netted six times in 11 games in total.

The young striker is yet to make his debut for the Toffees, but has starred in their youth sides, helping them win the National Academy title in 2010/11 while also featuring for England at various youth levels.

Hope will be available to make his Owls bow when they face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Conquering Lion of Judah shall break every chain.

Finally Good(-ish) news. Realistically though, if he has the slightest chance at a Snr Team call up he will go with England. If we make it to the hex and we have a few winnable games to play to get the 4th spot and play New Zealand, I can see him coming with us.

Twenty-year-old Bury striker Hallam Hope has admitted that choosing his international future is a difficult one.

Despite playing for England U-17s and U-19s, the

Manchester, England-born player is eligible to represent Barbados through his father who immigrated to England before Hope was born.  Hope's paternal grandfather hails from Trinidad and Tobago.

“Playing for England is going to be very tough as I am not in the Premier League at Everton anymore. To choose between Barbados and Trinidad is a tough decision for me to make, I feel both countries as part of my culture.  And, I truly admire my family members from both countries. If only you could play for two countries. But to be very honest, I am just going to need more time to think.  I am 20 years old so maybe in a year or so I will select,” Hope said.

Both Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados will open their 2018 World Cup Qualifiers in 2015, Barbados will kick off in Round 1, while Trinidad and Tobago are in Round 4, and will wait later in the year to open their qualifiers.

“ I remember watching Trinidad at the 2006 World Cup and I also remember Barbados beating Costa Rica in 2001, great results.  Both teams have calibre but let us see. I won’t make a hasty decision; it is a tough one to make.”

Is he really eligible for us? I thought our laws permit for the children who have fathers and mothers born here.  Not grandchildren.
