Galati is the exception to the rule. I remembered him at the World Bank. He is passionate about the the game. He is a good administrator. That is his forte. He and the USSF have been able to get big sponsors on their side for a long time. The sponsors tends to stay for the long haul. Our present administration hopefully will be doing something similarly. Hopefully.
While we would like Sancho to assist in straightening out our football problems, we must remember he is the Minister of Sport, not the Minister of Football. I have no doubt Sancho will assist TT football. But that assist will come with political bandwagonism. Like what happened to the men's team in JA and the women's team with Ecuador.
TTFA needs to decide if the govt should help them pay off the debt left by Jack or assist them with substantial financial assistance for preparing six national teams for competitions. I prefer the latter. The football teams preps. Are most significant for our revival. TTFA will have to get private benefactors to assist them with their past debt.
Good contribution brother but Sancho if people haven't figured it out yet, is destined for special advisor status with his partners running the tttfa, the same mold that was chastised by himself and others. Sancho needs a vision for how the ministry is going to handle football in our nation and he is at the head of those decisions. As a nation the answer was getting rid of JW, now that he is gone the situation has not improved but has continued on a downward spiral.
Sancho and them don't care that we don't make Copa or any other tournament, they care about money, when they should be counting on their exploits at the club level to support their family. National football isn't going to make you rich. But Sancho is planning to line his pockets as a minister and hopefully special advisor in the near future.
My advice is to get rid of all associated and start afresh, count your losses and start the rebuilding of our football, because our football will be light years behind if these footballers continue to drain and destroy our progress.
Here's some more advice, ask them to form a union for the players first before they line their pockets and go for the gold. Where is the organization? Where is the plan? Where is the unity and pride for your nation? Or is pride and unity only present when the pay check is there?
Everyone deserves to be paid and compensated but when you drag our football and halt our progress for your own financial gain, you are no different than the ones you are going after.
But then where is weary and all the PNMites who supported Sancho, are they supporting him now because he is a PP boy now?
Or he is just a mercenary like the rest of them...
